Holding now can prove profitable in future as it may go higher than what it is now.I think in few months it can reach around $5000 and might be stable for a while.But if you have a lot then you can sell some now and if there is drop then you can buy more.

There can be different reasons but for me its to just make an early exit before correction so that I can buy some cheap bitcoins after few days.
However this time I don't think we will see quite big correction so I have already bought back what I have sold at $4k.

The people trading are not only from this forum they are from eveeywhere for all of us we are aware that bitcoin will easily reach 5000$.

▪Don't think this like only a crypto market think this as a real companies market we buy at 100$ and sell at 2000$ ni matter what our stock will sell in couple of seconds.

▪Same way for bitcoin there are some investors who bought at 3800$ and selling at 4200$ there are some who bought bitcoin earlier and are now selling for double or triple profit and some are new investors.

▪If you combine all these it becomes 100,000 traders

there can be a lot of reasons to sell!
for example it can be for needing money and having no other way of getting that money apart from liquidating some assets such as bitcoin. (I sadly had to do this a couple of days ago)
or it can be a risk management thing where you have 30BTC and want to take 2 out just to get ~$8400 and enjoy life and have an easier sleep at nights.

If you do have 30BTC then i would really do the same thing too getting out with some partial cashouted bitcoins would be still fine and as you said enjoy life and dont just purely hold on tight with bitcoins because anytime we wont know if price would go back again. As long we do have the money we can anytime buy out again for cheaper prices on bitcoin.

I'd be taking some money off the table now too, if I had any on it.  Traders take profits,  that's the nature of trading and there's nothing wrong with that.   That's why we get dips, and we're going to get one shortly,  believe me.  Don't fault people for selling.  There are many reasons for doing so.

People will always sell their bitcoins for different reasons...maybe they are anticipating a correction or negative news reaching the community will affect the price, or simply just need cash and we cant always hold our crypto coins without spending some of our profits.

Actually happening a little bit slower than most of the analyst put out. It'll get there I just really not going to change much of anything. For us to sit around and think about nothing other than the price is wasting valuable business time.

It's not really wise to sell bitcoin now, the trend is going up as time goes by. But, we can't blame anyone who sells bitcoin. There's a lot of reason to sell, maybe they need money or they need to invest they're money somewhere. We don't really know, but I think a lot of people are aware of it, they might have a good reason to sell.

Say you have 30.2BTC -> then i will definitively sell 0.2 just for fun and just to get a new iphone.

Also keep in mind that Segwit 2x second part is a hardfork, I'm pretty sure the price will adjust before that, so it may be wise to reduce the holdings by some percentage, just in case.

and then what? then when the price hits $8000, then you'll be saying "why sell now? the price of $10000 will be a in a month..." and that will continue for some time until you need money for some reason or until the price starts going down drastically. So why just stop at $8000 then?

Not to mention that relative price of BTC vs ETH is high, that is actually a good moment to get some ETH or other alt coins at relatively low price - when BTC start to adjust, money will flow to alt coins and boost the price.

It's not wise to sell bitcoin nowadays, not today and not even tomorrow. It's price might keep on pumping till the end of the year. It's better to hold your bitcoin as long as you can. The only reason for you to sell bitcoin is when you really need money, but as much as possible try not to sell, just keep your btc if you want to get rich.

As for me, I believe who ever sell his or her bitcoin now did so for a purpose and not because of panic of decline in the market value of Bitcoin in time to come. I believe bitcoin value will reach  $10,000 in no distances time, but that doesn't mean if I pressing need for money I should not sell because it may become a lost to me.

Sooner or later you will still have to sell your Bitcoin. The fact is that today's life requires a lot of money for daily needs, so Bitcoin will be sold by almost every user in one way or another. Of course you need to save a certain amount for the future price. I think that even small amounts in the future, after increasing several times, will carry very good profits.

Nobody is really selling, people are just making some correction to their investment by reinvesting the money they have. This is best strategy to earn big amount of money if you have time and patience. You can actually sell your bitcoin at this highest point and then wait for bitcoin to come down to little bit so that you can re-buy bitcoins at little lower than previous one. As you are already buying these coins for the profits that you had earlier then it is complete profit even if the price doesn't move more than enough. Thats great way to work with bitcoin. So though the price is dropping and if you think its because of people selling it then its been done with smart mind!

This thread can be better to be fit for Speculation section and there are many threads which speaks for same thing. Bitcoin value has a fluctuation kind of tendency, we cannot think this will happen or not. Just wait for some months and then we need to decide about it.

I'm not selling anytime soon. I'm in for the long run so I'm not trading right now. On top of that I'm still locked in siacoin so I cannot really trade without taking a big loss. Will probably day trade a little bit when I got some fresh income.

If only I have plenty of bitcoin then I would be selling some of it for me to start a new business in my place I don't it will hurt my portfolio since I already gained more 500%.
