Is it possible to do it per day? If not how long would it take?

No. A normal computer can do megahashes at best(with a good GPU). A 1000$ ASIC-miner does terrahashes = 1000x faster.

for us, normal users, mining bitcoin it's not profitable anymore because complexity it's really big, i suggest that you try to mine another crypto like for example XMR or LTC.

Perhaps you should try reading the very top sticky post in this section??? Bitcoin Mining 101
You would not even have had to bother us with this query which has been asked - and answered here - countless times...

As was pointed out earlier, you can certainly mine other cryptos (then sell for BTC), on my duel xeon system 16 core, I am mining cryptonight, I am 'only' making around 50 cents a day, but then, why not do it - if you can  Grin

On this machine, I use NiceHash Miner, is very straight forward free software to use (not wanting to sound like an advert)

Not as specialised as the command line 'normal' mining software, but does the job.
