Hey guys!
I'm helping out the Onion team by sharing a newbie guide for those unsure of how to get the onions/coins. In the guide I basically show how to go from Cash/Coins -- Onions. Though, its pretty interchangeable to just about any coin, so I hope it can also serve as a standalone guide to getting involved with trading any coin.
Now that we have Deep Onion listed on an exchange (NovaExchange) It might be time to show people unfamiliar with exchanges how to obtain DeepOnion coins by converting either cash or another coin.
In this scenario - I started with Cash, but wanted Onions.
Step 1. If you do not already have an account with Coinbase, it is probably the easiest place to start (assuming you're starting point is cash, if you already hold another coin, skip this step). Visit
Coinbase.com (my aff link), add a funding method, and purchase either Bitcoin, or Ethereum.
Step 2. Open an account on NovaExchange.com.
Step 3. Click on Wallets at the top of the NovaExchange site, from the dropdown, select Balances.
Step 4. Now that you're on the balances page, find the coin that you purchased from Coinbase - If Ethereum, look down the list, find Ethereum, and then click the + Icon to the left.
Step 5. On the popup window, copy the Address provided to you by Nova.
Step 6. Go back to your Coinbase account, and send your balance to Nova - For Ethereum, the Minimum send amount is 0.05 ETH.
Step 7. Once your Ethereum/Bitcoin is transferred to NovaExchange all that's left is to convert.
Step 8. Locate the Onion/Ethereum or Onion/Bitcoin exchange.
Step 9. Once on the proper exchange page for the currency you're using, simply do the exchange.
I have never been a fan of leaving a balance on Exchanges, so to finish this process off, I would suggest transferring the coins to the official Deep Onion Wallet. Then remember to stake those new coins and help the network!!
