I do not really know what to say about that. It is true that I have lost BTC by trading with altcoins, but earned more I think than lost I think.

One thing is true however: if I had just bought BTC and HODL, now I could sell a portion of them, recover the fiat, and still have a lot of BTC.

I have come to realize in recent time that holding bitcoin in ones wallet is more profitable and a little bit risk free as compared to trading altcoin or what do you think ?

By holding onto BTC, you're in the long term game which will require a lot of patience with your investment. On the other hand, if you trade altcoins for profit, it is profit but does involve the risk factor whole the first option is kind of risk free.

In my own opinion both trading altcion and holding bitcion are profitable although trading involves a lot of experience and some times not really meant for everybody despite its profitability potential. I believe holding bitcoin is more risk free to those who are not good in trading altcion or crypto currency in general.

What you told is correct that holding bitcoin is the very good option as you can see that bitcoin is reaching all highs and price is moving high but we cannot say it is risk free because what if the price drops in long time like sudden their is some bad news and views , then the price will drop so it is risky in both option trading or holding.

That's right and need to consider the risk, both is profitable, also have risk but the level of risk is different, holding have less risk because altcoin easy to manipulate, but you can earn big profit if you know the trends and research more to altcoin which have bright in the future.
I prefer do both.

Both options are profitable, given that you know how to go about them. Holding Bitcoin definitely proves profitable in the long term, if you have an idea of where the price will go. Trading altcoins is risky and you have to choose well not to stumble upon a shitcoin.
Take a risk and get everything! Both has risk , of course different risk.
Similar way to gain profit , but for me holding is better when you only do trade randomly.
And it is never easy to trade properly , not rely on luck when put the buy or sell positions.

Altcoin trading is more profitable for me, because altcoin volatility is higher than bitcoin so i can make more. Which is of course when i exchange to fiat, i get more dollars than just holding bitcoin.

I don´t really compare those two. My current AIM is to grow my BTC stash.  So I use Alt coin trade not to make it more profitable than BTC holding in Fiat but as a away to grow the BTC stash. And it worked so far for me. I´m baging some alts, especially in this last DIP since june but overall i have more BTC than i had one year ago.

In my personal opinion, if I have a small amount of capital, I think I will choose altcoin trading because it can bring us huge profits in a short time as long as we have the experience to analyze and accurately predict trends. However, if I have a very large capital (about 1000 btc), I will hold bitcoin because I can get a lot of profit when the bitcoin is pumped strongly, so I do not need to risk too much

Actually both are risky and both are profitable because you can hold on to your bitcoin and keep it in your wallet and at the same time do long term trading and HODL the coins you have for how long you want. And both ways are making profits for years and years of holding these coins.

Of course, I agree that today the Troll's altcoin is very profitable and that Bitcoin is subsequently saved for future prices. Here you just need to consider the situation with the fact, how much you will store, and which you will sell for everyday you need. The fact is that the bitcoin rate is very different and there are difficulties with the choice of quantity.

If you don't want to involved yourself in much risky method of doing trading then you can do holds. But remember that holding bitcoin have a big different specifications than holding altcoin. We can say that bitcoin has bright future and worth to hold it even for years but in terms of altcoin, there are only numbers of altcoins who are fit and can be considered as worth to hold for long period of time.

It just needs time before you can get a decent profit from holding unlike in trading where the risk is really big but the returns is interesting in just a matter of short period of time.

It really is up to you man, trust your gut feeling. But if you ask me, i prefer trading more because i see it as a fun and thrilling thing to do, watching the prices rise and drop, and getting nervous if you did it right or not. Really is a nice mix of emotions if you ask me. But it requires a lot of patience also and hard work. Holding is nice too but a bit boring. But no worries! *drum rolls* tadaaa!! You can actually do both! Lol. Just go and store some btc on a different wallet and forget about it. And continue trading. Hope this helps.

Good luck on whatever choice you make pal, cheers.

holding coins is great idea but when you trade with altcoins is greater idea when it comes of profit i'll would go with altcoins where you had the chance there to earn as much as your holding with bitcoin but don't forget to turn it into bitcoin and fiat to see your profit in your hand people nowadays are depending in bitcoin and they trade it for altcoins to have an profit.

I think that trading altcoins is better because the profit you would make with the growth of the value of Bitcoin, would be made also on the profits you would earn in bitcoins by trading altcoins. You end up making up a profit in bitcoins by trading and then another one in USD with Bitcoin value increasing.

Yes it maybe true that trading altcoin can generate a lot of profits (depending on how much to buy the altcoin) but trading altcoin is not a without risk if me wrong in buying altcoin or thrown into shitcoin slowly the price of altcoin is falling further and further how do we profits from the shitcoin? Even the losses we face eventually but apart from the shitcoin it's trading altcoin is a good choice besides storing bitcoin

But how much does the price of altcoin depend on ether and Bitcoin? The fact is that today I can not understand the trade exchanges, what price to deal with, because there is no binding to the main crypto-currencies and Talking. Maybe I'm still doing a little bit of this thing, but something tells me that every coin has Free swimming.

Trading bitcoin is one dimensional job. You only focus on bitcoin news and the usdt price of bitcoin. In altcoins, if you're about usdt, you have to take bitcoin price and coin's own /btc price into account.

In my experience, it is much more profitable to hold atlcoin than bitcoin, though bitcoin is the reason why altcoin is here in this industry. Because if you trade altcoin it is much good than bitcoin due to there are some altcoin start from cheap value then after the ico it get high more than 100% then once you sell it because you buy a huge of it you get big profit of bitcoin where its a chance for us to hold it.

There is not a definite answer for this, if you are good at trading then trading altcoins is without a doubt a better business but if you suck at trading like most people then it is easier to buy bitcoin and hold it and obtain more profits than what you could have got in trading.

Yes, altcoin trading will be profitable only for the right traders but holding bitcoin will be definite profitable for anyone. Like many people here I am also doing both of these as I allocate some funds for risking with altcoin trading and obviously I am loving to hold my bitcoin saving for long haul. Compared to my altcoin trading, holding bitcoin is more profitable in recent times.
