Hello everyone,

I am thinking about buying some altcoins and would like to ask you how to approach this:

1.Which exchanges offer widest range of alts with a possibility for leverage?

2.I am curious how does exactly bitcoin shorting/futures work. First of all, which exchanges allow for shorting and how does it happen? Who is the one lending me the bitcoin to sell it now and buy it back at some time later? What collateral do they take? Secondly, lets say I want to sell a segwit2x future on one of the exchanges. Settlement date is Nov 20th we assume. To sell such future, I need to have 1 BTC on my exchange wallet and after selling the future the BTC is locked until 20th? I hope you understand what I mean.

Thank you in advance
