I would't recommend starting from trading any just-to-the-market coins or others with low liquidity and high volatility.

Just for the beginners, these are some good tips:
http://cryptopotato.com/8-must-read-tips-trading-bitcoin-altcoins/
https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/pump-dump-know-signs-trading-altcoins/
https://www.deepdotweb.com/2017/04/30/tutorial-altcoin-flipping-cryptocurrency-trading-strategies-always-win/

And, if you are not very aware about the whole concept of the assets you are going to trade, thatn pay some attention to this "for dummies" information about Bitcoin and how it works. It will be valuable to understand some fundamentals of cryptocurrencies before investing in this field.

https://www.bitcoin.com/getting-started
http://www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-explained-five-year-old/

Thank you for this information sir. There are a lot of useful information. This is a big help because i am not that knowlegeable about the whole concepts of the assests where to trade. It is a great guide to start for a beginners like me.

Coinmarketcap.com will also help you there are many coins you will see there and you were able to see where exchange that coin available other than that you can also see total supply and how many coins is in circulation at that time.

Thanks a lot for the information. Though I found most exchanges accept only btc. If I wanna buy any altcoins, I have to buy BTC first. But now the price of BTC is not low. How do you guys buy the altcoins? With US dollar? Thanks

It seems that this is clear enough for the information you provide to everyone on this thread, maybe from all the sites you recommend will be very petrified people who do not know about this, so I think not just for beginners only, maybe here are still Many people who need it To really understand this site.

This are all good information about bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. I certainly will be keeping them all in my "to read" lists. I have been working my way up the Crypto ladder one step at a time and I am hopeful  that using these resources I will be able to accumulate what I need to live a comfy life. Thank you all!

For starters, this site  https://bitcointalk.org  is very helpful.  Or maybe try  www.bitcoin.com/getting-started . Read first the thread for beginners and also create wallet for your coin. You can earn small amount in faucets. It takes time but it's worth it. There are some videos posted in youtube explaining about hoe bitcoin system works. It could be a great help for newbies. Whem it comes to trades and altcoins, you must be very patient in researching on what coin are you looking for.

So when it comes to investing it gets tricky. It can be the team or the coin features that give away. Most of the time you look for the hype behind the coin. Like to be transparent. I follow Neo, Gas, and  omg lisk on the market     decenteraland , umbrella coin, and spectiv on my ico watchlist

Hi.So I'm really new to this altcoin investment and I would really like to learn more and wrap my head around it.What are some sites that I could use to learn? (techincal and fundamental analysis, speculation, "reading" the market etc.). Also, where can I find information about specific coins, if there is such a place?(except this forum Smiley )

Here are some youtubers to catch you up to speed
Ameer Rosic
Crypt0
CryptoPortfolio
The Node Investor
Boxmining
The Dollar Vigilante

Conigy is a great place to do some analyses
www.coinigy.com

learning how to read the charts is just as important check out this.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Wj9ITc0444&t=700s

If you get into the market start with a very small amount to get the hang of it because a lesson learned at a small loss is easier to swallow then a massive loss.
