Is the token ERC-20 or not built on Ethereum?

Greetings!

Our MNTP token is built on Ethereum but this is just a temporary decision before we have designed our custom tailored Graphene based blockchain.
Right after we'll exchange all MNTP to MNT tokens 1:1

the idea of backing a cryptocurrency with gold is really great.
It really looks trustful.

I see the thread has a lot of articles and details and this seems very innovative idea to me, because till now most of the ICO and coins were just based on words and no significant value in real. This makes me feel good as we are backed by gold.
Is there a link to verify if you are actually backed by real ( physical ) gold ?

I saw this post : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2091726.msg21107669#msg21107669 and it amazes me but my question is that if you also require ID proof and all the KYC process then how is it different from buying from people/sites directly ? I mean the core basis of crypto is privacy and I would never feel too comfortable sharing my personal ID proofs and all, though I loved the idea behind it.

I think they are quite active and answering all the questions very rapidly just the fact that due to the gold being a real asset and they are claiming it's backed by gold so people have a lot of questions. I guess you should also check the main post and there are lot's of important links given to get some knowledge.

It would be good if you go for open discussion here. Because this forum serves better when we share as much as possible information openly here. Your questions must have raisen with hundreds of other people's mind too. They will find their answer instantly when you open up your question pubic. here. So, think about my suggestion.

In the past we had many altcoin which were backed by gold and I am not sure about their success nor trust.
But it is always attractive to have an altcoin which is linked with gold hence I too like to stay here to watch the progress.

From my experience apart from Spanish, German and Russian usually other local boards are not worth it. I checked Indian threads and I see there is literally no interest at all for those alt coins there.

People are too lazy to check old pages/OP for their answers and instead of checking there, they always come up with their new posts for their  doubts. I am not blaming them, but it will help devs to focus on their development rather than spending more time to answer everyone repeatedly. Active devs are always good, but we should not misuse them.

I found that in the white paper:
How will Custody Bot work?
  1. User presses the Open button. The tray slides out. The user places a product in it, which gets loaded into the box.
  2. The product put into the Custody Bot machine enters the spectral analysis block. A manipulator forces the product onto scales where it is weighed twice, once in air then in liquid.
  3. Once inspection is complete, the manipulator returns the product to one of the compartments inside the Custody Bot.
  4. The spectral data and weighting data are fed into a computer installed inside the box. This measurement data is encoded on the blockchain, made public to anyone who wants to see the information.
  5. To retrieve your product: GoldMint gives you the code of your deposit box. Enter this address on the front panel. The manipulator takes out the product and places it on the tray, ready for you to take.
But I don't understand who will have to do that.. regular customers?

Greetings!

Wow! Thank you for the loyalty, you described it best!

With regards,
team GOLDMINT

Thanks. I am going to take part in your ICO. Can I buy some GOLD before the event starts?

Greetings!

Unfortunately not as our pre-ICO is already over.
But you still are possible buy MNTP tokens on our ICO taking place on 20th of September with a good bonus of extra 20% tokens out of first 700000 tokens sold.
Here you can find more details https://goldmint.io/ico

With regards,
team GOLDMINT

20th september will be the first ICO for the MNTP, but when will you be able to purchase crypto-GOLD?

Greetings!

GOLD token sales will start on 2nd quarter of 2018.

With regards,
team GOLDMINT

I don't get this completly.
-20th september 2017 is the start of ICO
-2nd quarter of 2018 it will be tradable on exchanges?
or did I get this wrong?

Greetings!

On 2nd quarter we will start operating with GOLD. Negotiations to get MNTP tokens listed will start immediately after our successful ICO.

With regards,
team GOLDMINT

Nothing-at-Stake and LongRange-Attack in PoS
_______________________________________________________________

_______________________________________________________________

How GoldMint are going to solve these issues?
_______________________________________________________________

The Nothing-at-Stake and LongRange-Attack issues are well known. Just like 51% attack in PoW algorithm.

Earlier, GoldMint commented on the PoS issues in a blog post here  —  https://blog.goldmint.io/goldmint-blockchain-why-custom-85e339756253.

The Nothing-at-Stake issue is the event of a fork (the “fork” can be a malicious attempt to rewrite the history and do a double spend) the optimal strategy for any validator is to validate every chain, so that the validator gets their reward no matter which fork wins. This means that consensus algorithm doesn’t work as intended.

The attacker may be able to send a transaction to an exchange for some digital commodity (usually another cryptocurrency), receive the commodity and then start a fork of the blockchain from one block behind the transaction and send the money to themselves instead.

Even with 1% of the total stake the attacker’s fork would win because everyone else is mining on both.

There is no single PoS algorithm that can suit everyone. Because of that GoldMint has chosen the path of building its own highly specialized blockchain instead of building an all-purpose solution. Currently our engineers are designing the blockchain while keeping Nothing-at-stake problem in mind.

There are different approaches to handle the matter. Ethereum Casper uses so called “slashing conditions”: in case the validator is cheating and the conditions are met, he loses his deposit. Graphene doesn’t use deposits, but the cheating witness (validator) can be excluded from the list of active witnesses.

Please also notice that “statistical simulations have shown that simultaneous forging on several chains is possible, even profitable. But Proof-of-Stake advocates believe most described attack scenarios are impossible or so unpredictable that they are only theoretical” (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proof-of-stake).

Oh no after a chat with the owner I am quite worried and might NOT INVEST in this ICO, this sounds like they might scam later.

Greetings!

He couldn't have a such subject conversation with our founders and his comment has already been reported to the moderator.
But if you want to have a talk with them - please join our telegram channel t.me/goldmintico which is the only place where our founders Dmitry and Evgeny are presented and easy to reach. It's still possible but won't last long.

One more thing - trust only those users on forum whom you know or had business with. These "trustful" accounts with reputation are so easy to buy nowadays.
Also many thanks for your trust and taking part in our bounty program.
