Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

I simulate this event again and found bug in latest Novacoin code: Future drift checks only for PoW blocks Need hardfork to fix it.

Ignoring the half Chinese nonsense bot posts,
Please fork / fix. Right now this can happen again at any moment and only you (as major POS owner) can cause (and fix) it, which is not a good thing for a coin.
If you put up a fixed version I'll immediately update it everywhere. My main node always has more than 30 connections to it so it'll help force the chain over.
Please make the new version compulsory after 1,000 blocks or so.

I check, it is not depend on POS power. May be change some other parameters, remove POW or change POS rate?

I'm not a coder by any means, but would it help to implement something like this: Therefore, well behaving nodes should shelve future blocks until their block time is reached, so they won't participate in staking blocks on top of a future block. The clocks of well behaving nodes are not expected to drift more than a few seconds, meaning that an honest future block is not expected to be shelved longer than expected network relay times. SCIFI have another method block time stabilization. In old Novacoin code (QBT, HYP) all was OK, but in new code they accidently create this bug.

How about for a start do the following:
- Nodes reject blocks more than 3 minutes in the future (POS or POW doesn't matter) - This rule is enforced starting at block xyz (couple of days from now)
That way people have time to move over to the new version. Old version will still be fine until this happens again, then they'll fork off (and should have upgraded)

This is exactly what I will do.

Shouldn't you be using the dev-messages thing to make all the clients warn their users that there is a new version and whether or not they MUST update to it? That is kind of the point of that message feature isn't it? Or does this coin not have such a feature? By the way, I have set up United SciFi Coin onto the STELLAR network as asset "USF" with anchor (trust line) GBHAQ252S4Z4AQOM4BWIRC3UHAOJIKCZQBUJGD336YH2O7W2NKRXMHA5 It and the other assets I have set up there, including several other sci-fi themed coins, are listed at http://makemoney.knotwork.com/stellar/I expect to also add the SCI-FI coins, including this one, to the HORIZON network, probably as "assets" rather than "currencies" since creation of "currencies" in Horizon seems to be broken, then you will see them added to my lists at http://makemoney.knotwork.com/horizon/The advantages of STELLAR over HORIZON are that you can trade anything against anything (platform's native coin, Lumens, do not have to be part of every trading pair) and that fees seem to be tiny. Also, at least in theory, it should enable "converting" any currency/asset to any other currency/asset, given enough pathways (trading pairs). The advantage of HORIZON over STELLAR is that you do not have to "tie up" native currency to create "trust lines", thus do not need to have native coins (HZ) "tied up' per currency or asset you wish to work with. Because HORIZON (HZ) does not seem to be on any mainstram, web-based "exchanges" anymore, I have implemented an HZ asset on STELLAR. -MarkM-

New version. Mandatory update.
Thank your for the quick update. I've updated my node.

As for an exchange for this coin: As long as there is an explorer -- why not add it to Bisq? https://bisq.network/No exchange 'listing fees' and keeps it in a P2P Exchange environment!

I will NEVER ask for any kind of funds up front in a buy/sale of anything on bitcointalk.

I want to be involved, but where I am, I can't. Is there a position to earn or buy a coin without mining now. For most coins with high anonymity, they always face the threat of hacking by state security authorities. What's the plan for that?

The only explorer I know of lpool.name ... its not really a full explorer... just the bare minimum for yimp pool. I'm happy to throw up a VPS if anyone can help me build an explorer for it. I personally like insight.is: https://insight.is/ as an explorer, but not sure what's involved in adapting it to work with United SciFi.

What's next, no development is visible, everything is frozen. DEV, any news about the development of a coin.

Yeah been very quiet. But both POW+POS have been mining fine. IIRC waiting to list on Novaexchange, last Wed news said they're getting closer to allow opening to new user accounts, guessing that prob aligns with new coin listings. Btw think it's worth mentioning so far vampirus has been a top notch dev imo. Cheers.
