anywhere data for p2pool?

First post.

@Thrash

Can you explain more?

I have about 10 Mh/s pointed to it and have had for 2 days. It has been running good and the return was just as expected. Today it has been real slow and I was checking the miners and saw the normal "Found block for pool 0!" and under it was "Accepted diff ***K/****** BLOCK! GPU 0". I expected the little pop notification to show but it never did. Block is just gone. I watched a while longer and saw the same thign happen again after posting above. Since then I have shut down the client and restarted everything and it seems to be back on schedule. Just don't know where those blocks went.

When mining solo the only accepted shares I get are those that are block finds. Looking at that before I restarted it looked like I had lost about 8 or 9 blocks.  Sad

Sorry to be so long.

In that case, did you try a simple pool switch?

I am trying to get some hash power over to the smaller pools. Mind joining the 0% fee one on the first page? Smiley

DGC definitely could use another North American stratum pplns pool.  Turbocoins.us just keeps dumping me off with pool interruptions and lost shares...can't have that.  Where is digi.cryptocoins.net located, no US, right?

You can just use the pool I posted above for direct payouts, or one of the other P2pools.

digitalcoinpool is also working well if you want an account based pool.

wish i knew how to solo mine Sad

Add these lines to digitalcoins.conf:

rpcuser=username
rpcpassword=password
server=1
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1

Username and password are arbitrary, just so long as they match on the client and miner. Restart the client, then point your miner at http://127.0.0.1:7998

(This assumes you're running the miner on the same box as your client. If not, change rpcallowip to your miner IP, and point the miner to your client IP)

If you're using cgminer you can add one or more pools as backups to help detect new blocks.

cgminer --failover-only --scrypt -u username -p password -o http://127.0.0.1:7998 -u poolusername -p poolpassword -o http://pool.address:1234 .....

The --failover-only option means that cgminer will do solo mining (your client is effectively the first pool), ONLY moving to an external pool if the local client fails.

Can we stop quoting some poster who has multiSCAM between scryptmining.com and digicoins.  They have nothing to do with each other.  Though frankly, even if it was the same owner, not sure that makes it a scam!

On another note, I'm about 85% done rebuilding a PPS solution that I may implement on scryptmining.com, meaning as soon as a block is solved, those shares solved between it and the previous block are what counts 100% towards payout, which happens the moment X number of confirms take place for said block(atm I use 80).  No more PPLNS-never-sure-if-your-shares-are-right at the start ect.

Not sure if I'll get it out in time to try another shot at a dgc pool, but perhaps for the next coin that comes along. We'll see.  Currently in testing mode.

Profit-Switching Pool w/ Vardiff -> http://hashco.ws  Optionally keep the alts we mine or auto-trade for BTC. In addition can be paid out in any of: 365, AC, BC,  BTC, C2, CINNI, COMM, FAC, HBN, MINT, PMC, QRK, RDD, WC, XBC

There is still plenty of demand for pools, especially a PPS pool.

Good, there's a gigantic amount of room for quality account-based, stratum pools right now.  The pool situation is among the more difficult to find a stable home compared to some other recent coins.

I like that.  You got back up after your last pool went south not to mention the scam accusations.  This is what DGC needs, resilience.     Grin

Let me know when it is ready and I'll test it out.

I'd be interested in joining your pool if you implemented PPS or RBPPS

for me its all about a round = a block philosophy.   I understand why established btc pools moved to more elaborate schemes like PPLNS, but I think its just so much clearer for people to see whats happening with their coins when 1 block = 1 round and its paid out after X confirms.  For a newer coin I think its ok to at least try it out.

At least, thats the theory.  We'll see if it works Wink

Walt, it's not an issue, the network can handle it. I want distribution for node reasons.

ZeRo, use one of the p2pools if your hash rate is okay.

Hope not.  Don't want all the defective miners over at WDC to flock over here.  I want to mine as much as I can while the diff is still low.   Grin

agreed. I am solo mining about 5400khash/sec right now...found 4 blocks in the last 90 mins. I think that's a better way to go at this diff level than pool right now. I could be wrong, as I haven't done the math. At least I get all the blocks I find though!

I am also happy that this coin isn't on an exchange yet. It seems like once it's on coinchoose, EVERYBODY and their mom shows up and mines the crap out of it--and the difficulty skyrockets.  Let's mine a bit before that happens Smiley
