if we get a block every 20 seconds, won't the blockchain become too big too quickly? (like.... terabytes in size months after release)

edit: yeah, it's 30x faster than bitcoin, and the bitcoin blockchain is around 4GB in size after 3 years, so in 0.3 years (or 4 months) the digitalcoin blockchain will be 4GB..
did you factor in difficulty?  Grin

Well difficulty determines how long it takes for a block to be found, and the difficulty adjustment in this coin is around 1 block/20 sec so....

I'd imagine by then the situation would be such that central nodes do most of the blockchain downloading and the average person won't need to download the full blockchain.

Still, it forces innovation in the areas of compression and file size. We're all along for the ride though.  Smiley

Your on http://digitalcoin.scryptmining.com , yes?  If so, and you're referring to the KHash reported on the site, don't worry about it Smiley   The site isn't currently reporting it correctly, but as it mentions, its a display only value anyways.  The site only cares about shares in terms of paying you coins.    I'm in the process of trying to get it fixed up, but don't worry too much, as long as your client is showing a decent rate and not too many stales, you'll be paid out as you'd expect Smiley

if on the other hand, your client is only reporting 2.5KHash, well, if your GPU mining, you may have a problem!

Profit-Switching Pool w/ Vardiff -> http://hashco.ws  Optionally keep the alts we mine or auto-trade for BTC. In addition can be paid out in any of: 365, AC, BC,  BTC, C2, CINNI, COMM, FAC, HBN, MINT, PMC, QRK, RDD, WC, XBC

Calling all miners and pool owners:

Dev has depleted the first round of donations with the recent development of DGC.  As many of you have noticed, Dev hard work is showing through the steady rise in DGC exchange price.  There are still a lot of work to be done.  As such, I am asking the community to chip in and donate what you can.  I am calling BigVern and BitJohn over at Cryptsy to support DGC as well because the success of DGC can only mean volumes for you guys.   Wink

I will donate 500 DGC to get things going and from now and tomorrow, I will match any donations up to 100 DGC.  You can see the first round donations on the wiki site.  Let's make Round 2 a much bigger number...

Stratum P2Pool is on:

crypto-coins.de:8907

As usual for P2Pool, just Point your miners on the above adress using your Wallett Adress as Username and a random passwort

Example:

Code:
cgminer.exe --scrypt -u DHUqdchzCGUYKABsv3nLkVwJiL93YoNpP2 -p hsdrtu89dfgdhfg8 -o crypto-coins.de:8907

See stats at www.crypto-coins.de:8907

Pool Fee ist 1 %

Our Pool is still on, running very efficient. But a little bit more hashing power would be great!!

fencian are you having issues with the pool, just noticed a bit of down time on my miner - appears it wasn't just me.

We did a quick reboot earlier.  Figured it needed it after 5.5 days of uptime

I don't even understand that in this instance.  They've dragged tail getting stratum implemented compared to their other pools.  Miners are just wasting work at that pool until then.
