There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

It's pretty normal market behaviour for a new market.

We have a new merchant, coingas.com, make sure to check it out. You can buy steam games directly for DGC.

That's an awesome site. Glad to see some vendors accepting DGC. I was expecting a bunch of crap games, tbh, but those are new releases. Excellent. Smiley

Anyone having payout issues with http://digi.cryptcoins.net/ ?? I've been mining for a few days here on it. The site (along with coinwarz.com) says I should be getting around 3000 coins a day, however I am getting a fraction of that (about 1200 coins a day based on the rate over the most recent 12 hours of mining). Getting off this pool until I hear some feedback on why this could be. I know DGC has a higher stales rate, but this is beyond that.

Had the same accounting issue and decided to try p2pool (don't like it very much) and the payouts seem fine now.

Have you tried p2pool and check the payout rate?

Here is my code for any p2pools that want to connect.

If you have a current DGC p2pool please don't modify that one and change to this code. Instead, start a new p2pool and use a different WORKER_PORT than your current pool (does not have to be 8810) otherwise you will get a bunch of orphans from your miners since they are submitting work based on different parameters. Not sure how long that will last. Perhaps until the miner reconnects or accepts the new settings. Either way it's not pretty.

All connecting P2Pools must have the same parameters.

p2pool/networks.py
Code:
    digitalcoin=math.Object(
        PARENT=networks.nets['digitalcoin'],
        SHARE_PERIOD=30, # seconds target spacing
        CHAIN_LENGTH=24*60*60//10, # shares

Fast coin, great rewards, the name has "board appeal" and real buzz potential imo, ... and xpool servers are only 100 miles away Smiley  I'm on board for as long as the devs are.

My $.02: Over time, the inconvenience of ("1st generation?") slower coins will weigh on their value and usefulness (i.e. LTC).  Bitcoin is the exception as it's too public to be replaced anytime soon, and would only shake public confidence of cryptocoins if it was.

Furthermore, I think the average consumer would expect a digital currency to be instant to consider using it over fiat.  I know if my mom was waiting for 6 confirmations for BTC, she would think her internet was slow or that she needs a new phone.  Something fast like DGC sidesteps all the currency spenders' inevitable, collective frustration while waiting for services.

The CryptoCoin Mine Digitalcoin pool is now up with the new software base

dgc.cryptocoinmine.com

port 7070 for stratum

port 7339 for LP

You will need to re-register as the database structure is different, and much more efficient, then the old database.

I am offering 0% pool fee till Wednesday 06/12/2013. If response is high enough I may extend it.

I will lower the confirms on the Digitalcoin pool as soon as I have enough reserve built up or bought.  Wink (On that note, I am looking to buy a "bulk" amount of DGC, just shoot me a PM.)

I want to really test out this software base before I make a major change to the payout system. Both pools will remain PPLNS for now, until I am comfortable with changing them over to PPS.
