can anyone tell me why the confirmation for this transaction is delayed for so long? usually it goes through within 30mins. thanks

How much is it delayed?
It seems to have 250sat/byte fee, which currently takes around 0-18 Block to confirm.

Here are few places to check the current fees, so in future you'll need to know how much to set for fees:
21Bitcoinfees (Usually outdated alot)
Bitcoinfees.info
Bitcoinfees.github.io

The last two sites at least provide a pretty accurate information about the current fees.
Your transaction should take max 4 hours i would say to clear up (although this is not a promise).
