✴ Blockchain Cops and Lawyers

This project is about creating some sort of Internet Policemen and Lawyers that can be hire for some fees. The project is inspired by a similar project on "Blockchain Lawyers" I read somewhere but i can't remember exactly where.

The main responsibility of the Blockchain Cops and Lawyers will be solving and Prosecution of Internet crimes such as, Cryptocurrency theft, Hacking, Impersonation, Identity fraud,  Pedophilia, Terrorism, Bullying, dangerous trolling, Blackmailing, wrongful withholding of user's funds by Websites ,  wrongful Users banning/suspension, DOS attack on websites, Users/Admins violation of sites TOS etc..  Governments seem to be helpless in these areas hence the need for this specialized services.

The services will exist on the Blockchain with its own currency. Funding will be sourced through ICO, from Donation or alternatively, run by volunteers.



Real cops and lawyers (or people who are knowledgeable/experienced) all over the World will offer their services on the Blockchain and gets paid.


Websites/Users who are successfully prosecuted will be banned from websites, reported to their countries law enforcement agencies,  compassate their victims or given a bad rating all over the internet.


This project will keep the Internet safe.

I guess it's good that someone is thinking of such a project. However, you might want to avoid getting involved in law enforcement, especially since that would already be the jurisdiction of regional and international agencies such as Europol and Interpol. What would be helpful is to provide a service or agency that helps point people in the right direction to such avenues for assistance.

For example, raise awareness on the organisations already recognised as legitimately able to take action, depending on jurisdictions, provide the direct hotlines and contacts to victims of fraud and other crypto related crime, which is likely to already be under the purvey of existing regulations, even if there isn't any body at the moment responsible for crypto as a whole. A lot of such organisations gather at conferences such as these: https://www.interpol.int/en/News-and-media/News/2017/N2017-002. Connect and network with them.

Although, I imagine a service that helps with legal aid would be helpful. Not too many firms specialising in the crypto area atm, I'd wager.

So you are going to be the Interpol of the Blockchain? Do you have specialized forensic software and hackers who will identify these crimes and follow the "money" trail or are you only going to help local law enforcement agencies and judicial services to properly prosecute these offenders?

I can see one way how this could work, investigators could act as private investigators to solve crimes for a person that has hired them.

Private investigators also exist in the real world and they usually find ways to act legally, so why wouldn't someone be able to hire a specialist that has the knowledge of how to track a criminal down through the blockchain.

They also forward all incriminating information to law enforcement.

This exactly. I think you could position yourself pretty well if you approached a few local law agencies to see if they would adopt something like this. If so you could start small and build up but certainly don't think its anything that would be used to create an ICO for. Perhaps you could raise the money to hire and get it off the ground but that would be the extent of the ICO unless you have larger plans and more in mind. But as Kakmakr said, there is certainly a lack of knowledge about blockchain and crypto when it comes to most crimes regarding it that agencies have no clue about.

This is certainly something i will follow to see how it goes!

Exchanges won't give out any information about their users to private investigators, but that doesn't mean they can't do anything.
I would imagine that there are some private investigators who have good contacts within law enforcement, meaning they could speed up the process of getting someone caught.

It's possible to follow a trail to an exchange, if the source of those coins is clearly something proven illegal, law enforcement should have no problem obtaining a subpoena.

A lot of private detectives are also ex-law enforcement, so they know how to obtain information legally through some kind of legal grey area.

You would still need to prosecute in a court of law, plus you have to deal with international legal considerations which vary by country.  Not to mention in places like the US, both the Justice Department and FBI have divisions for cyber-crime, and cases must be reported to actual police to escalate and prosecute.

The idea is decent, BUT the way it can be realised is very complicated. We need serious institution to peocess it, but it will be needed sometime 100%.

This is a humble idead for sure! But by implementing and following through with what you proposed, wouldnt it be kind of like self-justice? I mean, you, or people involved who are "prosecuting" would likely get in the conflict of breaking the law themselves to follow their humble intentions. Just my 2 cents, but as aforementioned I also think, that without official bodies involved, there will be a lack of power to enforce this kind of stuff. Maybe a whitelisting/blacklisting of fraudalent companies and idividuals in the space could be a possible solution, but even this could be risky, due to possible mistakes, so again there could be the risk of character assasination lawsuits following up. I love your idea though and I am not a lawyer, its just my first thoughts on the topic.

a good idea, but again this is a fantasy that is hard to come by because it requires also government approval. and lawyers will take a long time to know the ins and outs of bitcoin

Lawyers it is reality. At the moment some lawyers have specialised on cryptocurrency cases. But cops it is fantastic due that it is government related structure and tax payers pay for this service. Most of cryptocurrency users not tax payers:)

I really doubt OP's project. Like any ICO, he (they) will just raise funds then after that they will dump the token they'll release and then left the project. For us to believe, we should know the person or people behind this. There are a lot of issues which will limit this project's capability. Even the International Court in the Hague, their decision is not that much implemented since they lack enforcement and it cause conflict to a country's existing laws.
