It depends, if I really like project and I can use it. I do not see a reason to build my own. But if I feel that I can do better and faster. Main idea is to have at least one major benefit

Paraphrasing from other people, no ideas exist in an ether. If you've come up with it, someone else likely has already as well and is working on it. The planet is too large, $7 billion people. Even if original ideas are the same though, diversity comes in the execution. Always many niches to explore and occupy. Also, "does" is the key word. If "does" just means they put up a website and a white paper, maybe a demo, nope, not too late to jump in the scene. If is a dozen larger competitors that already have explored a space pretty thoroughly over the past two years? That's a case where maybe you go back into a closet and try to come up with another idea.

This man mentioned correctly, facebook and google weren't first ones but now you see that they are first, especially google is N1 website in the world.
You can't do anything when your idea is taken until you have patented it (patent means you have official right to do that thing). On another hand it's always better, if you think that your idea is great and it has serious potential, do your best, get loan and finish job on high grade, don't let others to make your idea lately and better.

Agreed! You need to put in more efforts to make your idea unique and different and most importantly more useful to the end-users than your competitors'. You need to hire a team of developers who remain engaged in constant research and development in order to make your idea better and more easy to use and beneficial for the potential customers or users. That way you will beat your competitors and become more successful than them.

If you lack the funds then you should re-evaluate the idea and find ways to execute it without $$$
If everyone who you trusted betrayed you, forget about the project and continue your path, at the end karma will reign
If you quit all together it means you were never going to execute that idea successfully, go back to the closet and put yourself together
If you started first and you have the balls to stand up against the competitor without funds or a team you will be legend

Your idea could be duplicated in short period of time after your project starts. It is normal and you should be prepared for this. Simply be fast in creating your product and have enough capital to proceed in order to compete.

For me you just need to accept the fact,  because it was happen due to your negligence also if you have new idea don't discuss to everyone to avoid the stooling of idea. Then instead of self pity regarding what happen, why you should create a new idea? that gives you popularity to crypto currency society. People thinking had limitless so I'm sure creating new idea is not too much hard.

If someone has launched something similar to your project or token, think of what makes your project better than them. Don't be discouraged to stop because it's your project, thinking of a concept isn't an easy thing and if you do have a real business and you want to support it by that token so what's the reason that you should stop because there are some that are first to you? if I were you I'll do this.

Go forward. Be confident. Truth and perseverance will prevail.

But if you know to yourself that your project doesn't have any future plans and you don't have any realistic goals, just stop.

No one has monopoly of Idea, every Idea is been ruminated  by a lot of individual, reason why it is very important to take a step ones an idea cross your  mind, do not wait until you have all the resources to execute, start with what you have.
