Thanks EleanorZ for explaining a lot of things here. A few additions:

I have written a little more detailed guide on calculating the staking rewards here: https://github.com/bitcoinx2/spectre/wiki/FAQ#8-how-can-i-stake

You can use the "dumpprivkey <Address>" command (sorry - I think I wrote that quote with exportprivkey earlier) to export your private key. Note that when you spend coins from that address, then most probably a change address will be generated, which will be different from your original address! Your private key will not change from staking alone, but you should be aware that every time you send coins, some remaining part will be stored on a different address afterwards.  That's why making backups of your wallet.dat is usually more important. There are 100 change addresses in our wallet.dat, so at least after every 100 sent transactions you should make a new backup of it.

If your wallet is not syncing then replacing the binaries will not help.  Wink  You can come to Slack where we have a dedicated #support_client channel.

Also make sure to check out the FAQ if you are lacking connections to other nodes: https://github.com/bitcoinx2/spectre/wiki/FAQ#7-i-have-zero-connections

Spectrecoin is really on a good way with great devs behind this coin. We only have to wait for some really great features who come very soon. Hope the community is going out and spread the word for xspec.

Just spotted this coin and last 2 hours I spent educating myself about and I have to say "wow" what turbulent history is behind this project. Thumbs up for new team and supporters, great work with taking over, development and community. Sorry for me that I found this today and not few months sooner. Great potential waiting for good entry to jump in.

Do most you guys keep your coin on exchange like Cryptopia or in the wallet?

Just want to know what you guys think the safer route is?

Wallet. Only keep on an exchange if you plan to sell soon or have a very small amount. (This is true for any coin.)

Wallet = more secure (especially if you encrypt) + you get staking rewards.

I'd wait for someone with more experience to chime in but I'm under the impression that the cardinal rule is to keep currency on exchanges for as little time as possible. Who knows what the next exchange to disappear without a warning will be. Plus is your wallet you can stake and gain more coins.

You experienced the "zero balance bug" Wink https://github.com/bitcoinx2/spectre/wiki/FAQ#6-my-balance-disappeared-from-my-wallet

It's one reason why jbg has built a new GUI for version 1.4.

Has anybody here been trading on Bisq so far? What is the actual user experience? Comparable to Etherdelta? And is it operated with placeholder assets or truly decentralized?

BISQ is some next level s*** and XSPEC is gonna thrive with it as anonimity premiere. That is so far what I ve heard.

Gotta test their client myself first to be objective
