Hi! After intense research about privacy coins the last days I have to say this project really stands out! Great tech and as I have seen nice community ready to help. Only in marketing terms, especially missing whitepaper, look of website (my opinion) and "marketing itself" there is room for improvement. I have already read that you first focus on the product and I am totally fine with that. Way better than promoting something that is not existent. But don't wait too long My question is if there is an approximate date when the linux wallet will be released? Really looking forward to it. Keep going guys, you can do it!

You can use the wallet on Linux by compiling it from Github, there is good documentation on that and jbg has written a bash script to make it as easy as possible. Just follow the instructions: https://github.com/spectrecoin/spectre You can come to Slack to the #client-support channel if you have any problems.

Thinking about getting involved in this coin-love the tech and the mission.
I worry about the lack of focus on marketing though-is that something that will change?
While tech comes first, marketing is critical too-I've been frustrated in other projects with a great product but no desire to spread the word and I'm hoping this one isn't similar.
Yes, it will change, I assure you. Now, we are completing essential features of the product, then we can focus on Marketing in a professional way. If you like this technology, take advantage of entering, just before Marketing, with a lower price. What are the relative advantages and disadvantages versus other privacy coins? Congratulations for the decision to be part of this community !! Here you can compare SpectreCoin with other coins of privacity: https://altcoinwiki.org/en/SpectreCoin#Comparison_with_other_coinsThanks much, slowly building a stake. How many devs are involved with the coin?

No. It's just ~200MB so you can just let it sync, it shouldn't take too long. Note that if you use a bootstrap, that's just a different way of downloading the chain. How many devs are involved with the coin?
Two core devs and 1 web developer, see https://altcoinwiki.org/en/SpectreCoin#Official_teamThanks! What you are looking at is the old wallet though. The new wallet, version 1.4 that comes out in February will be even cooler! Much cooler actually.

Do any one use the Mac wallet? I can't open the v.1.3.5 wallet on Mac. The wallet crashed when opening. Does anyone have the similar case?
It kept failing on my Mac El Capitan on 1.3.4 and 1.3.5, but after re-downloading for the 3rd time, I tried to open, it failed (Spectre quit unexpectedlt). But then I checked the sha256, tried to open Spectre again and it worked! Not sure why or how, but it finally did! Looks pretty neat too! Great job devs! UPDATE: After about 24 hours of trying to stake, the 1.3.5 wallet "Spectre quit unexpectedly" every 4 to 7 hours. Again many Mac users are having this issue on 1.3.5. After chatting on Slack, @jbg advised to go back to 1.3.3 and use that as it is stable on Mac... Saving private keys and going back to 1.3.3 now... https://github.com/spectrecoin/spectre/releases/tag/v1.3.3

Go to options/debug/console. Type in "dumpprivkey Address or public key". This will show you your private key.

The dev thought I was on working 1.3.3 before, but it turns out if a Mac user was already crashing on 1.3.4 then then he will also crash on 1.3.3. So i came back to 1.3.5 and now waiting for 1.3.6 or 1.4.

Your question can be answered, if you enter to Slack and then from there to an appropriate conversation channel: (off-topic). http://slack.spectreproject.io/

For Mac users: The current version is 1.3.5 if a correction is made before the major version 1.4.0, this should be called 1.3.6 as it will only affect Mac users.
