If you're looking to make any sort of profit from cryptocurrency and you're just starting out, what do you think is the minimum starting investment you ought to put into it?

Yes, I know "you should only put in what you're willing to lose" but surely there should be a barest minimum, right?

EDIT: If you don't mind sharing, how much did you start with?

If i had to invest in cryptocurrency first time,i would  start with a minimum $10 and maximum $50 which i can afford to loose.
My hopes would be on winning profits and if i win, i will still not increase base deposits because it involves risk for newbies.
You can consult an expert trading advisor to avoid loss.

Yeah, if i invest in any cryptocurrency at first, i will start with amount between 5$-20$ since i am not rich. If i see such a potental coin, i may invest only 1$ and hope it will be 1.000.000$ like  bitcoin  Tongue Tongue Tongue.

Most common words from people would be like that definitely "Just invest on the amount you can afford to lose" If you are asking for an amount then this thing wouldnt have an exact number because people do have different financial states and we do have different views on which amount we do consider as a minimum amount. For me the minimum amount to invest on trading would be $100.Some may say it would be big or small enough but this is how i see on this amount.

You are absolutely right there.
IMO, if you want to put your money in any investment (ICO) nowdays, you must invest at least $100. If you only investing small amount, it won't give you big profit. There were some great ICO, say ADX and MCO, if you have invested $100 on those both coins, now you would get $300 from each ICO. It means you have turned $200 -> $600 only from that.

You can invest anything between $1 to $10 if you just want to check how you can invest in crypto. But if you want to make some profit or try your luck with trading than atleast $100 will be required. If you want to make short term trading to make profit on daily/weekly basis than I think $1000 should be minimum amount.

There is no minimum. But would you deposit $1? Ofcourse not. Transaction fees are like $2 so depositing $1 in bitcoin would definitely not be a good move. You can start with $5 or so, but don't expect to make big bucks with that amount, as that amount would only be good for doing a few trades to test things out. If you're looking for profit, probably a minimum of $100 IN MY OPINION. Anything lower than that would probably be a waste of time. I'd rather get a day job than seriously trade for profits with low amounts.

I began with 0.0005 BTC on poloniex, that allowed me to trade a few coins and watch movements. For building a portfolio and to also being able to hold cryptos on long term, 100$ would be the minimum, I think.

I think there is no minimum limit for investment, but semakij much better because it will get more and more results as well.
But keep in mind, there is no investment that always profit, so better adjust with how much money you dare to waste.

In my opinion investing in crypto starts to make sense at USD 200 - 300,-. However you can get your feet wet with as little as USD 10,- so there's nothing wrong about starting small.

Watch out for withdrawal fees though. They differ from exchange to exchange and can take quite a bite off your investment if you invest only little and want to withdraw to a wallet of your own. I guess accounting for withdrawal fees the minimum viable investment amount would be at about USD 100,-

Minimum Investment is very personalized term. I think minimum investment is on which 20-30% return should have considerable impact on your income. Not very less like $1 of which $0.2-0.3 is very nominal return and not effect your income very much, nor should it be like $100k where if you lose $20-30k, you goes in depression.

I think the minimum investment in trading that for sure you can generate profit is 0.1 btc. Even though 0.1 btc is not big amount of money, it is very effective in long term investment. If you will invest, try to invest your money in potential altcoins.

For trying out only, I think I would start below 25USD for sure, you know you may type in the wrong address and stuff to lose them completely;

For trading for a profit, I would say minimum is one month of your life cost: so if you earn 20% it will be a good pocket money.

$100 can make for decent gains assuming correct decisions, but the more the better.
You can trade with any amount you want (as long as the exchange accepts it), it's just that you won't make money if it's extremely low.
You will learn though.

Hmm, that a really small amount, an impossibly small amount when you take into account deposit fees, minimum deposits, trading fees and withdrawal fees (I learnt those last two the hard way Sad ). But yes, I am talking about trading and agree with the last statement.

In my opinion investing in crypto starts to make sense at USD 200 - 300,-. However you can get your feet wet with as little as USD 10,- so there's nothing wrong about starting small.

Absolutely. That and deposit fees. Like I said above, I learnt about withdrawal fees the hard way. I had to trade my balance twice for LTC just to get it off an exchange.

If you're looking to make any sort of profit from cryptocurrency and you're just starting out, what do you think is the minimum starting investment you ought to put into it?

Yes, I know "you should only put in what you're willing to lose" but surely there should be a barest minimum, right?
Most common words from people would be like that definitely "Just invest on the amount you can afford to lose" If you are asking for an amount then this thing wouldnt have an exact number because people do have different financial states and we do have different views on which amount we do consider as a minimum amount. For me the minimum amount to invest on trading would be $100.Some may say it would be big or small enough but this is how i see on this amount.

I definitely agree. But even then there's a point where there's no point in putting it in. I started with faucets and my payouts were to Xapo but I had no idea their withdrawal fees and deposit fees where many times more than what I could claim in months.  Sad Long story short, I don't have a Xapo account anymore.

So it seems it's around $10. BTW, I've added an extra question to the OP.

Actually there is no minimum amount if you want to invest in crypto you have to make sure though that the bitcoin you will send is worth the fee you will be paying. $100-200 can be a good start and you can earn a lot with that if you will happen to buy a good coin.

EDIT: If you don't mind sharing, how much did you start with?
I don't know exactly how much I have invested at first but I think it is around $100 which was some part of my saving. I have invested that in one ICO which turns out to be successful one and got around $300+ from it within few months. From that point, crypto trading/investment got my attention.

You can start with any amount but what you can make with that depends upon how much you can risk.

Yes don't risk money that you can not afford because we are not sure when we will get profit from our investment. Sometimes it takes very few time within 1 month you will make double profit. Sometimes you need to wait for a couple of months. So investing amount is not matter, how much time you can wait for matters. Patince is also important.
