I'm very exited to introduce the project I've been working on for the last several months. It's called Alarmcoin. Basically, Alarmcoin is a web app that lets you track many cryptocurrency markets and get different kinds of notifications about price movements.

If you are an altcoin trader you might benefit from tracking many crypto markets in one place and getting notifications about price movements during your trading session.
As an average user you might be interested in getting Email/SMS notifications about price movements of any cryptocurrency/crypto-asset.

https://alarmco.in/assets/application/images/promo/watchlist.png

There's a lot of things planned to do like iOS and Android apps, push notifications, API for developers, and so on. But the ultimate goal is to create Universal Cryptocurrency Platform (UCP) that will enable trading at any cryptocurreny exchange and getting live market data in a unified format for any market in one place. And, of course, the goal includes letting everyone to get all kinds of notifications!
Also, you can request a feature or vote for one at our wantoo board. I will carry out the people's will if an idea is worthy.

Donations help to keep running Alarmcoin free of charge. Donate if you like it and want to support further development.

This service currently is in open beta-testing and registration is now open. Join today!
Please report any bugs you may encounter.

The grue lurks in the darkest places of the earth. Its favorite diet is adventurers, but its insatiable appetite is tempered by its fear of light. No grue has ever been seen by the light of day, and few have survived its fearsome jaws to tell the tale.

You might think about bringing in a social element... just a brainstorm, but the ability to follow other people's alerts, broadcast alerts to Twitter, alert leaderboard (pseudo-trading), etc. Good luck with your project.

Thanks, social element is a great idea! I would not come up with this one...
I was thinking about fantasy trading (which you called 'pseudo-trading') and it's on the TODO list already (our streaming engine already allows to run fantasy trading over all the supported exchanges and markets). I will definitely implement it combined with the social elements sooner or later (currently working on the project as a hobby).

Yes, it is.
Currently Polo and Trex supported. More exchanges are on the way.

Personally I would not mind paying for a tool like this if it is good.  I would suggest a one time fee per version, rather than a monthly subscription.  When it gets updated to a new version, you must pay upgrade fee for the new version.  My reason is that I often get busy and can't trade/research for a while, so monthly subs seem like a waste of money sometimes.

Of course free/donation is unbeatable but a paid version might make it easier to fund development.

Can't wait to check this out when I get a chance Smiley

I just tried it, but I really prefer using an android app, so I look forward into it as I've seen that it's in your to-do list. Why not put an option of email/SMS notification in to add to Watchlist page as well? I mean as a user, if I wanted an alarm and email/SMS notifications at the same time, it would be easier if there's a checkbox option like (enable SMS notification, enable email notification) in to add to Watchlist page rather than a separate input for that same pair in notification page. Then the record will be available in both Watchlist and notifications page. If a user doesn't want to add a pair in the Watchlist and just want an email notif, then he will input it directly in the notification page.

Just a suggestion.

Well, I might move toward paid plans when functionality of the service get more complicated and I will consider making options like this. Hope you'll like it.

Yes, Android app is on todo but I'm not planning to make it any time soon... Currently I am going to spend all my available time and efforts on expanding functionality which is the highest priority. When it's done I can move onto less-prioritized tasks.
The point is that you need to keep the watchlist page opened in order to get notified. Watchlist is supposed to be used by altcoin traders who need to track a lot of markets during a trading session.
Current alerts implementation is per asset (which means that price trigger is based on price of a certain asset/coin) but it's possible to implement separate triggers for per market/trading pair alerts if you need to get email/sms notifications with military precision and without the need of keeping the page opened.
