Hi there,

Loyal bitcointalk user here since April 2013. I've been a while away from the forum, but hours ago I tried to log into my account but that was not possible. I clicked "forgot password", entered my mail but nothing arrived at my mail address that was used for the account "Frost". At that point I wondered if my account would be hacked and opened the profile: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=94117

It was now clear that my account is hacked. Profile picture was changed from a Curt Cobain photo to picture with the logo "Social". The person was active on August 20, but that was not me. I looked into the account and saw tons of new posts that I didn't write.

Most of my last posts were made in this thread when I bought two GPU's: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1945504.msg19512302#msg19512302
Everything after this was not written by myself.

I used the account for both, communication about cryptocurrencies in English threads and German threads. Which means, I do write fluent German as I am German. I wonder if the new account holder can do this too.

Isssue is that I didn't sign an address with this account. Using the wayback machine, there are two addressed linked to my account, however I don't control the keys, which means they were addresses from platforms, not from a wallet. I must have been stupid back then in 2013 and should have put in addresses that I control.

I see some possibilities to proof that I am original account owner...

- I can show you a topic reply notification mail from the forum related to the  thread were I made my last posts: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1945504.msg19512302#msg19512302

- A mod/admin contacts the user celeborne https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=965120 who sold me the two GPU's. He must have PM'd me his Ethereum address where I did send him the Ethers for the 2 GPU's. Since I still control this wallet, I could send a transaction from it again with custom data included.

- I contact the new account holder and hope that he gives my account back. I assume he bought the account in the forum. Sadly it's a hacked account, and I was the owner previously.

- My log ins must have been from German IP's until the posts where I bought the GPU's. After that the IP's might have changed because the new account user might be from another country.

- I still control the previous email address from the provider @alice.de

Please help me to get the account back. I've been loyal user since 2013 and would be happy to get the account back.

Forum comment made in the following thread will probably have a completely different IP because it was not written by me or from my location: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1935179.msg20032454#msg20032454
As same as all comments after this made with the account.

It is unlikely that the admins will help you recover your account if you do not have a staked address.
Your best bet is to convince somebody in DT trust that your account has been hacked (possibly through contacting celeborne and verifying the ETH address), then they can give this account negative trust. Then you can negotiate with the person in control of your account to get your account back.

Regarding the ETH address that is under you control, is it from myetherwallet.com or from an exchanger? If it is from myetherwallet.com then you can sign a message from it.

It is actually from an installed wallet. It seems I can insert custom data with transactions. Is that what signing a message means?

Signing a message is using your address to create a message and provide a unique signature that is verifiable using multiple sources to prove that you actually own that particular address. Also, in recovering hacked accounts, a signed message from any address that you may have posted in this forum prior to the hack is needed for you to prove ownership of the account.

Serious question. How is it even possible that someone changed the mail address of the mentioned account?

It's absolutely impossible that the person had access to my email address. This is most likely a hack due to the leaked bitcointalk database.

So, how was the person able to change the email address?

Also, as said, there is no address linked to my account. I contacted the new account holder now and referred him to this thread. I'd like to know how he got the account. Probably bought it in the forum from someone who hacked my account.

Again, an admin would just need to set back the email to the address that was used previously.... then I could recover my account. Apart from that, admins could contact the user celeborne, he knows information's about me that the new account user can't know. Also taking a look at the IP's and posts that I mentioned should show that there is something wrong.

I wrote the guy who is using my account now. Since there is no reply from the person, I assume it's actually the person who hacked my account.

Oh, there is GideonGono again, and others!

I wouldn't be surprised....

- Account selling allowed in this forum
- Blatant scams allowed
- Database leaked (probably sold)
- The "hacker" can takeover account and change email, while original account creator doesn't get notification about email change
- The "hacker" can change profile picture, account creator couldn't
- No help from admin or staff to get accounts back (the forum is filling of hack complains)

What a scammy forum this is. They push away loyal users and don't give them support when their accounts are hacked but they feed this mothefucker account mafia instead. But really, who knows, maybe they are even involved in this.

I think you are going way to far with this..Why the hell would staff be involved with this?Your account was probably hacked by someone who knows your password - you downloaded a phishing program that have keylogs implemented that steals your passwords - You went through a phising website that steal passwords.Do some research before talking non-sense.If you want staff help, you have to sign a message from an adress that was in your account.Otherwise staff wouldn't believe that you are the true owner of that hacked account.

Bullshit. The password was leaked, I promise you. There is zero chance that I downloaded a keylogger lol. As same as there is zero chance that I clicked on a link to a phising website. By the way, I wrote the person behind my hijacked account a PM, including the link to this thread here. How comes he doesn't join to tell his story?

I'd like to speak German with him. If he is the owner, he must be able to speak German fluently... just check his account history...

Also again, what is the deal.... admins/mods would just need to set email back to the previous used one.... this guy is not controlling my email.

There is zero help here.... so...

This forum is pro hacker and contra loyal users.

So now you are saying that I am a scammer?Okay....Are you dumb or what?
I was simply hired by the scammer as a MODERATOR and he also promised to pay me which he didn't.Stop talking non-sense you dumb.

Scammer.

I feel for you.

Frost probably speaks Chinese now?
I agree with bolded above. I think we can deduce who that "hacker" is?

This is the god like syndicate Blockstream/Core/theymos/bitcointalk cutting edge tech all run on a pi
