Example of the most recent activity:

I'm just wondering if this is something that has always happened or if it's just happening recently - as I haven't previously seen this until the last few months - it seems to be "brand new" users posting links that are suspicious or at least spam.
I assume this is just a way for them to get someone to click on of their malicious links, but it'd be useful if there was a solution to this? (Otherwise, this is merely a warning).

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

This sort of spam has been going on all over the forum for a long time now. Just ignore it and the staff will take care of it.

that is not a spam in my opinion,
more likely that's a phising link or something like that.
because i got a message something like that, when you click it you will sent to a random site.
or they're trying to get your account from that link (i guess)

because me and my friend got that email from time to time,
they're trying to ask about this coin, website and something like that.

for example :
Monetha.IO
they're asking about Monetha ICOs but their link goes to google.com
