You are a beginner in this cryptocurrency world. I know that you don't have a prior knowledge about this world. I think before you invest your money, study first all of the information about cryptocurrency.

i will recommend you not to go with the flow. one thing always keeps in mind not to invest in that crypto which is on peak. bitcoin is a very risky investment right now and i will never recommend any one to invest in the bitcoin right now. instead of bitcoin etherium is much better investment right now and i think it will reach to the moon in the near future.

I'm not sure if 15 years of experience in the financial market will help you all that much in the unregulated clusterfuck that is crypto. The normal rules don't apply I'm afraid.


Things to read up upon, apart from how Bitcoin and other crypto-currencies work of course:

1) Which exchanges are reputable (Kraken, Bitstamp, Coinbase come to mind)

2) How to keep your coins safe (cold storage: paper wallets, hardware wallets such as Trezor or Ledger)


In addition, keep in mind the following:

3) DO NOT keep your coins on exchanges for safe keeping

4) DO NOT blindly trust people trying to push alt coins such as Ethereum oder Ripple on you. Do your homework and come to your own conclusion.

First I suggest you watch a lot of videos on youtube such as : "what is bitcoin?", "what is blockchain?". Then whrn you will have all fundamental knowledge about bitcoin you will have new questions to google. I am in crypto for more than 2 years and still don't know everything... so persistant, everday vodeos, articles on cointelegraph etc is the key...

I will assumed that the moment you invest your money in some of the coins, you already know the risk associated with it and already gained knowledge even about the basic idea.

What do you mean by "companies"? Are you referring to invest and wait for profit idea or the companies are you talking is about exchanges?

Since that is the case then the best thing to do is to hold coins "for now". While holding spend time researching what crypto trades is all about and then you are ready to go.

If you're going to be day trading, you'll have no other option than to keep your coins on an exchange.
In that case, I'd opt for a fully regulated exchange like Bitstamp for example.

For altcoins, I would now say that Bittrex is one of the better options, Poloniex has been experiencing some issues lately.

The best way to start is to learn the basics of cryptocurrencies and then start your investment journey. Else, you could easily lose all of your capital as this is a very young market and a lot of things are here to be upgraded and updated with more & better interfaces for even newbies.

No companies are required, and moreover you need to know more about bitcoins and cryptocurrencies because there are many happenings in crypto that you don't know, however if you invest on that coins make sure you have a apetite to hold it for long term ,if not you will lose it all.

i heard there is an option to trade on contracts of the Cryptos, like you trade contracts on the S&P, Nasdaq and so on.. so you don't need actually to trade in the exchange itself..

Just have a look at https://coinmarketcap.com and invest in top 10 coins listed there based on marketcap.

This is the easiest way to make money by investing in crypto without making any deep research but at the same time risky too.

You can also invest in some ICO which have really good roadmap, future pontential and good team behind.

Whatever you do just remember that don't invest in a coin that have pumped over 50% overnight or at peak price and never put all your investment in one coin.

Because you're just a beginner, it's best to first study the market trend and others connect to it. Because you may want to increase your money it might just get bubbly. Buy 100% bitcoin.
Then do some research, and put10% of your bitcoin in ethereum, dash, monero or any extablished coin you belive in.
Then other research, and put 5% in hi-risk new project you belive in (I.e. waves, neo, gamecredits)
Then other research, and bet 5% or less on ultra hi-risk not scamming ICOs (like the one in my signature).

You should end with:
90% or more bitcoin
10% medium risk
5% hi-risk
5% or less ultra hi-risk

That is a very big amount to invest your money, and that is a very less experienced person asking this question. I don't know if you have knowledge about the crypto currencies but these are most volatile thing you might see in the world. They fluctuate like very crazy and you may wanna be very choosy while investing into them. You gave considered good coins but there is more than these in this market. Please take little more lessons before you could invest your money. With that kind of money you can earn huge but only if you choose right place to invest in. :-)

I think investing in Bitcoin may not be a good idea now. Though some traders think opposite. As you are new in crypo market I think you should start investing very small amount and start building your confidence and experience. There are lot of alt-coins which are very much under rated this time. You could learn about them any may be invest in one of those.
