The network tries to produce one block per 10 minutes. It does this by automatically adjusting how difficult it is to produce blocks.

It is not that great a deal for a 43m2 apartment. I would not be surprised if in a few years 409 BTC would get me something far more luxurious and in a far more expensive market.  A mansion in the west side of Vancouver, a penthouse in New York, or maybe a prime piece of real estate in Dubai, Tokyo, London or Paris.

PS: A market share for Bitcoin comparable to that of GNU/Linux on the desktop would do the trick.

Concerned that blockchain bloat will lead to centralization? Storing less than 4 GB of data once required the budget of a superpower and a warehouse full of punched cards. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/87/IBM_card_storage.NARA.jpg https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Punched_card

Where does 409 BTC come from? That comes to about 50,000 USD at current rates, and the apartment is listed at $460,000. Does mercadolibre use the $ sign for pesos or is this just a basic arithmetic error? 460,000 USD for a single-bedroom apartment in Argentina does seem steep, though.

edit: looking through mercadolibre, the prices definitely don't seem to be in USD. Pesos, I guess.

460,000 Argentine Pesos == $87,669.10 US Dollars - says Google

So, about 712.75691 BTC at $123 per.

Don't know how much of a great deal it is, not familiar with the Argentina apartment market.

That's the official rate of exchange, but you won't find anyone who will sell you US dollars at that rate. The unofficial rate is closer to 10:1
