Segwit activation in four blocks - why isn't anyone talking about this?
I was just talking about this in another thread, I do believe that the cryptocurrency Traders and forum members have beCome A large group of silenece. It seems that the only reason that people were talking about August 1st was the fact that was an argument involved and people had to choose sides. But now what's the argument is over, the actual results that the argument was about have little importance to me. Or maybe it's just a fact that whether they like it or do not have simply accepted the fact and don't really feel like talking about it.  |

I read that Segwit would prevent some kind of extra profitable block composition formulation that almost all pools denied using because it's unfair.
Will we see that effecting the block discovery rate or cause a drop in hashrate?

hahaha because theres no drama or controversy or no new coin. Wait until November, we are going to have another battle. Segwit activation was a huge anticlimax. Welcome to the crypto world. When I look at the support data on coin.dance, the support for segwit2x of newly mined blocks is way over 90%. I really hope it will be not much of a drama. At some point the developers will have to accept where the majorities are. And even if they do not, I guess the old chain will be the one to become a new name this time. I suppose the average user will not take much notice of that fork either. |

Segwit is already activated. Many are happy about it, many are not. I happen to think it is a good for Bitcoin because without it the Lightning Network, which we need if there is any chance of Bitcoin becoming mainstream, will not be centralized nearly to the extent it would have been without Segwit.

In fact, decentralization is not always good. It seems to me that permanent plugs we are seeing this year is a consequence of decentralization. Everyone who can pulls the blanket over herself. So break bitcoin in pieces. |

In this world, you cant really please everyone, This is one of the reasons why we currently have Bitcoin Cash which i'd say despite everyone including my opinion that its was going to die in its cradle is infact rather booming very well. I certainly hope that this disagreement doesn't result in another currency coming into being any time soon. |

Yes, segwit already activated but the problem is most wallet provider still have to update their software in order to support segwit transactions, basically new address required and we have to send all of our bitcoins to the new address. I am still waiting for new information about it and it may takes few days to get the new update from wallet developer.

The people that were waiting for the Hard Fork stayed around till the very beginning of this month, most don’t really know or care for SegWit activation. I think that the price of Bitcoin can fluctuate at high levels because of the news yet the price of Bitcoin is going to go up anyways. The longterm holders just check the price of Bitcoin then exit the page once they’ve seen it. There’s other people that are lurking in this forum that are waiting for the second SegWit to happen and that’s when they expect to have a bunch of money to appear in their wallets and that’s when the next adventure beings. |

I just got home, and fired up my wallet and saw the unknown block warning, and jumped over here to see what was going on, for some reason I thought Segwit activation was in October or November.

Yet another surprise in the crypto world May be nobody is interested in Segwit and to be very honest. I only love to talk about Bitcoins because it is the real digital gold and all other copycats like Segwit, BCC etc get on my nerves. I really wanted only one currency for everyone around the world but these things keep on budding in. Whatever happens, I will support bitcoins and I really don't care about any other crypto currency. |

People have lost interest in hearing this type of stuff now. During fork, people were eager to know what will happen or whats happening. Everyone stopped trading or accessing their wallets nearly 5 days before the fork. There were so many posts or threads regarding the bitcoin fork and the instructions . But now its over and everyone knows nothing is going to stop bitcoin's maiden voyage. So people are least interested about the segwit activation .
