Hi people... Just read a little bit about ripple currency and its working mechanism seems to be a little different than bitcoin. Seems like an interesting concept. However, the company will hold 50% of its 100 billion ripplies. Does it mean that the currency will if not appreciate as much as bitcoin, there are still chances that it might appreciate in the coming months and years? If so, is it worthwhile to invest in it for longer term? PS. I hope we can store ripples in paper wallets as well?

I don't get it why they consider ripple as a crypto project. Might as well invest in applepay or paypal. And yes, they hold majority of the currency and they can do what ever they want with it. And that's very unappealing to me.

Just read a little bit about ripple currency
it is not really a "currency"! and its working mechanism seems to be a little different than bitcoin. Seems like an interesting concept. However, the company will hold 50% of its 100 billion ripplies.
there are lots of interesting "mechanisms" out there but simply being different doesn't make the better investments. Does it mean that the currency will if not appreciate as much as bitcoin, there are still chances that it might appreciate in the coming months and years?
there is no way in a million years that ripple appreciates as much as bitcoin! it is a very simple concept called supply and demand it is a 21 million bitcoins versus 100,000 million (100 billion) ripple supply. at the same time it is a growing demand for bitcoin versus 0 demand for ripple If so, is it worthwhile to invest in it for longer term?
not at all. even if we ignore the huge supply, this coin is currently in a huge bubble and it has been falling slowly down back to 900 satoshi range.

Ripple is nothing. No benefit of investing in ripple. The price is slowly and up and down. It is better to invest in BTC , eth or waves. Those three coins have good margin price because as traders pump and dump coin with high margin will make a lot of profit. Holding ripple for long time will earn little profit because jumping on the price just lite.

it is worth to invest in XRP but not Ripple, they are of different path, Ripple is used for banks and XRP for trading and investing but the drawback here is you have to wait 1 to 3 years of holding your investment to have really big significant gain, it is not recommended for short term investment. if you have extra money that your can save and forget then Ripple is good but for revolving funds this not so attractive.

Ripple is centralized coin so I know some people will not let me to get money with ripple as it is centralized and I think it may not be profitable in the long term. Is ripple coins are required to increase in value as time goes on?

With every transaction a small amout of Ripple is destroyed so its value should increase over time. However I feel it's overpriced at the moment.

ripple is one of those coins that went crazy about the supply and now in the long term it is paying the price so to speak. it is exactly the same situation like Dogecoin for example. they go crazy on the supply without thinking properly and then end up with an altcoin that keeps going lower and lower in long term.

How much I would like to see banks fail xD, banks will still be here for a while therefore I don't think you can go really bad on XRP right now. Just buy it around it $0.15 - $0.17 (current price while writing: $0.27). I got mine very cheap and could have made a profit, still decided to hodl on them since I believe it will go up again. Although its wise to spread you're total investment in serveral coins. I got - Xrp - Stratis - BTC - Siacoin (for the heck of it)

I think very few altcoins that deserve attention for long-term investments. Most people use ripple for speculation. Someone earns, and someone loses. If you are interested in investing for the long term then this Ethereum or bitcoin.

XRP is worth investing for a long term, but if you want your money circulate for a week or a month better to with bitcoin, waves or ETH it will give you more income long term or short term... and as of now XRP are very slow to goes up... as other says you will around 1 to 3 years before having good profit on it. check out other coin if you would like to invest: NEM MONERO WAVES ETH NEO

Yes, i think ripple is a very good coin. Both for short-term and long-term investments, last night Ripple Price Continues Ascent as Volume Crosses $ 2 Billion. It is a remarkable achievement for ripple.

Ripple is worth investing in lot of money. But its centralized, that means everything can happen to your money. It may even lose value by increasing supply. I think it as the last coin to invest ever here.

I have around 500 ripple. Got a decent amount on giveaways back in 2013-14 and exchanged for btc back in the day.
Not sure whether I would invest money on it now but I'm keeping the 500xrp long term just in case price rises.
