I have not been part of an ICO, because they basically seem like penny stocks which are ripe for abuse. People have proven time and again that they are terrible at estimating risks. Hype will build in an idea or company, but in practice it is extremely hard to implement. Only a tiny amount of ICO's pay off for anyone except the creators, who have incentive to manipulate the original design before it's released. It's like the stock market, but with a lot less chance of earning a return.

At this time, there are many ico projects. but it is quite difficult to choose a good quality ico.
I've joined ico like Bitquence, Polybius etc. And I always produces a satisfactory profit.
Note: joining an ico project has a huge risk of loss.

Only your opinion plays a role at the choice of ico. Read the white paper and look at responses and opinions of other people.

I do promote ico tokens and the one that I have seen good return is Silvercoin. This coins has returned over 20* to the investors. The first ico I just invest in is just dating site though I was sceptical about this investment from beginning I late see the way people are investing in this coins I was late move to add more. Social network nexus is another ico that I have seen people putting alot of money into. There have raised over $4, 500, 000 in just few days.

I am not a big fan of buying tokens but tried 2-3 times. As far now Sun Contract been mine most productive investment. I invested 2 ETH during week 1 and after it get listed on exchange I got a return of 8 ETH. So, ICO may bring you unexpected returns but most important is to differentiate between scam or legit ico soon and not fall for any project pledging to good to be true investment opportunities.

Have only been into one ICO in my whole stay in the crypto scene. After the coin was enlisted in the markets I immediately offload my share of the pie since I sincerely believe that it will not prosper unlike some of the good coins. I'll stick into the old ways of trading as it seems to be more profitable and has a short amount of time to execute and take profits rather than wait for weeks before you can sell your bags.

Yes it is, I remembered when I participated to buy their token during the campaign of ICOB, after the ICO it became x 7 of capital investment when I traded it in novaexchange, But there are ico if they didn't meet the market cap target they will return the capital investment of their  investors through escrows. That's the good thing advantage if the signature campaign has an escrows.

Although an ico that achieves a substantial fundraiser will not guarantee a project will succeed.
But as an initial benchmark it should see from the amount of fundraising that enters. its just my opinion.

Yes I invest ICOs as I believe they are lucrative. And I win 6 out of 10 times and winners outperform the losers big time because crypto world is still young so a lot of space for many more ICOs to come.

I never invested in ICOs but I wish I had invested in bitquence and PPT as the tokens were very cheap at the time of the ICO and the price almost tripled when it reached exchanges. Bitquence was below $0.3 and then it increased to $1 in almost a week's time. While huge projects like SONM tokens are trading below ICO rates. People are now selling SNM tokens for a loss. Same is the case with Bancor.

Yup I have done it many times. It is very exciting to participate in the ICO and then wait for the whole month or so to end it and come on the exchanger. The whole period goes in watching how much money is being raised by the ICO as you can easily predict from it whether it is going to be successful ico or not. I always try to buy on the angel day, which is the first day of ICO and you get 70%+ bonus for your token purchase. This is almost free stuff and you can earn big profits from it.

I bought for roughly $30 worth of Lisk during the ICO-phase. The value of the bought amount of Lisk would suffice to fund an extensive roadtrip nowadays, but I sold it for a modest profit long ago. During the ICO-phase of Waves, I participated in a signature campaign related to it. It yielded an amount of Waves that would be worth around $1500 today, but once again I sold it a while back. In my experience, ICO's can result in surprisingly huge profits from just small investments, though I realize they absolutely don't guarantee a positive outcome.

Second thing, too many coin make me not comfortable to buy. Sometimes I think it's just a " trend " and will ending anyway. I only buying bitcoin and second coins ( eth, monero, ripple ) to make profit on the real market. Be careful with ICO and have a nice day.

Invest in ones that have credibility and a great team that is verified or known in the space. Do your due diligence and don't be naive. If you see any that are promoting high yielding profits and focus on ROI % then its probably a scam.

No you are completely wrong with your above statement. If you invest in promising ICO than you can easily get over 10x profit in really short time, take a look at monaco. ICO price for monaco was around $1 and now it is being traded at over $20 and might cross $40 soon.

Trading coin is safer but what you can earn with holding them is really tiny compared to what you can earn with good ICO.

We have yet to lose on an ICO but we hand pick ours to make sure its 100% legit and not full of potential empty promises. The returns have helped us build and start our own projects in the space which we are grateful for.

Always do your due diligence (product, team, history, etc) before investing in an ICO, you can lose big but you can also win more than 100% so it makes it a worth while investment in certain cases.

Not directly but a few months ago I tried to participate in the bounty program of one ICO. I spent almost 6+ hours to work on the translation for Ann topic and I received bounty reward in the form of those coins.

The exchange was planned on the roadmap, founder announced the ICO, raised around 30 BTC from that ICO and ran away. Even the web wallet for that coin was not accessible and he deleted the entire site. It was the worst experience so far but taught me the best lesson for rest of my life.

Sadly, most project at now are scammer or do not clearly, so very difficult when we want confirm an ICOs project really or fake. Fortunately, in Bitcointalk Forum still have many people helps us solve this problem, example @cryptodevil had blocked Karbon, Lust ICO project in past time.
