Do you have any firearms? For what purpose do you have it and  have you ever used it?
Everyone else can discuss if people should have a right to have a gun or not.

People should use the guns only if they have any threats to their life; only for the purpose of self protection they should use the guns. Otherwise common people don't have any reason to keep the guns.

do you have a gun?I think not, because in our country it is not permissible for civilians to have weapons, which are allowed only state apparatus that may have weapons. if want to have a weapon to go through many tests and so .. different if in the United States, their citizens are free to carry weapons.

I'm from Europe and I can tell you, in the country where I live, people don't carry guns around. It's a very safe country compared to other countries (US comes to my mind).
People are allowed to have a gun at home if you have a license. I guess that less than 0,1% of all people in this EU country have a gun. I'm pretty happy with the system we have, there are no mass shootings or crazy people who flip and kill people at work or whatever.

My husband has one. But he went to several seminars to get a license to purhase and carry. I always told him that having a gun is having a responsibility because of the dangers it may give to our family and other people.

Here in Nigeria it's illegal to own a gun. But I think is good to learn how to shoot.

I own a gun because I live alone. I don't carry it with me everywhere, it just stays at home in my night drawer in case (heaven forbid) anything terrible were to happen. I have been trained how to shoot and know how to use it if I ever have to, but I hope that time never comes.

People should have guns for protection because there is no better way to defend your home or property in case of a robbery.

How is a little old lady going to defend herself against 2 or 3 intruders in the middle of the night?

The fact is, guns are not scary or bad. Slingshots, blow darts, knives, baseball bats and bow and arrows are equally as dangerous. In reality, there are evil people who wish to do innocent people harm, and you have to be ready to defend yourself against these attacks. Would you go into the wilderness without protection? If someone started beating you up would you defend yourself with your hands?

Likewise, self-defense is a right and I guarantee you if you are ever in a situation where you are getting robbed you will wish you had a gun.

But if all people have authority to use gun there is a tendency to have a war, terrorism, and huge number of criminalities. If the people will have a power, definitely, more people will not hessitate to kill someone else. I think that gun is not the suitable solution instead, educating the citizen in rights and regulation, give all people a dissent job in order to lessen the crimes, and make a law becomes powerful.

No, however I trust that it is a critical method for securing your life and property against individuals who wish to do you hurt, regardless of whether it is the Gov. or on the other hand a home interloper, there are numerous circumstances where a policing power simply doesn't react sufficiently quick or are simply the issue. I feel that it is a fundamental advance in getting to be set up for the vulnerability before us.
