hello everyone!

I'm building my first rig for mining monero. i started mining after i discovered this thread. congrats Mattthev for the tutorial. i am using XMR-STAK 2.1 Github - Official to mine whith my laptop...only to see how this works. Now i want to buy some video cards to build a rig, but i am not decided. i have to choose between 3 cards:

1. Sapphire AMD Radeon RX470 MINING QUAD UEFI 4GB (i read this one has samsung memory)
2. XFX RX 470 8GB
3. Sapphire Radeon RX 570 NITRO+ 8GB

i am pretty sure that i am going to overclock them...
Can you put them in the order starting with the best? and, if it's not to much, can you tell me what is the maximum hash rate for each one, whit standard bios and moded one?

Find the benchmarks, usually these mining cards aren't very good... Nitros are very good if you don't have the shitty Hynix AJ memory same for XFX.

Check you virtual memory settings. Set something more then combined video memory of all your video cards, ex 6 cards, 8 Gb each -> 50 Gb virtual memory.

It is working well with my VEGA 64 while Can XMR-AEON-STAK print the GPU temperature and fan speed? 

The VEGA is very sensitive... if GPU-Z opened, then the hashrate drops from 19xx to 17xx.

Im trying to setup sgminer, with a single AMD 7950, and it simply does not start. Im getting this

And then it says restart miner, and keeps looping without ever starting out.

Well i'm fairly new to GPU mining and have only use nvidia cards so far.  I have a friend who has a couple old AMD cards (Fire Pro v7900 2gb) and i was considering grabbing those to build a machine just to mine me a little extra coin.  I've seen some posts saying AMD won't work with CCMiner.  I stumpled on this thread as i was interested in sumokoin.  The OP lists some mining programs that work with AMD....so my question is....are these cards too old for these newer miner programs listed in this thread?  Or is this "AMD doesn't work" just old news and newer miners will usually work with AMD now?

Usually you are stuck with old miners for old AMD cards, Claymore 9.7 usually have best results.

BTW XMR-STACK 2.2 was relised recently https://github.com/fireice-uk/xmr-stak/releases

has anyone been able to set two threads to the new xmr-stak multi GPU miner?

I was able to compile it , runs very well on CPU/NVIDIA but for AMD i cannot set more than two threads per GPU which is a requirement for RX VEGA to hash faster.

I have three RX VEGA, this line works perfectly on the OLD xmr-stak-amd (amd only) miner, but it is ignored on the new miner.

I'm on windows 10 with the classic blockchain driver, it is not a machine issue, it is the miner, compiled it again but still refuses to create two threads per GPU.

anyone fixed it? any ideas?

Not sure, but most of the miners won't be optimized for these.
