What happened:: I made a post on here requesting to buy giftcards. Exhibit A: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2134247.msg21331752#msg21331752 and I got no replies but tons of Skype requests. So I sifted through who I thought was legit and who I thought wasn't. I check the trust levels for some folks and decided to go with arcusgoldsales [skype name] Not sure of username unfortunately.
He has an account on sythe (link in reference link). I sent him $80 worth of BTC because that's all he would accept. He says he hasn't received it and I show that not only did he receive it, he forwarded to another account. Coinbase did take a while, but I feel like he used that as a way to say he never received it.

Amount Scammed: $80
Payment Method: Bitcoin thru coinbase
Proof of Payment: http://imgur.com/yJZRzS2
PM/Chat Logs: http://imgur.com/a/NYuss
Additional Notes: I would like my BTC back. But I'm sure I won't get them. I just hope this doesn't happen to anyone else. Even though they may have a ton of vouches and trust, they are still capable of scamming you.

In order to get the maximum amount of activity points possible, you just need to post once per day on average. Skipping days is OK as long as you maintain the average.

Thanks for laying out this in the correct format.

You asking people to add you on Skype for communication is just begging for scammers to knock on your door. And as you said, you did not even ask for what their username on bitcointalk is. Sythe has nothing to do with bitcoin trades, because PayPal is a reversible payment method and there are a lot of people dealing with reversible payments on scythe.

Take this as a lesson so that you do not make the same mistake twice. Firstly, keep all communication on forum. Secondly, only deal with a legit escrow.

BTW, screenshots are not valid proof of payments. It's much better if you can give us a TXID.
