Do you think digital currency will ever replace paper money?

Highly unlikely with how Bitcoin is structured out currently, it's more a store of weight than a currency you could pay with for basic needs everyday. You'd end up paying more for the transactions fees than the price you paid for that apple you bought at the local grocery shop with bitcoins. If it becomes more adjusted to those kinds of needs, then yes, cryptocurrencies would be on a steady way towards replacing paper currencies. It's not entirely possible to predict how long that will take though, so you shouldn't be eager to spend bitcoins on knick knacks, save them to exchange it into fiat currency.

Not everyone now can use a digital currency. I think paper money will continue to exist to be used where we can't use a digital currency.

Yeah of course in sweden for exemple they have nearly no cash anymore and they think that in 20 years there will be 0 paper money. The technology we have here will be used by the banks and governments. No doubt that the paper money will disappear.

Personally I say yes as our society becomes increasingly dependent upon technology, digital currency will become a more popular means of paying for different things and it is more effective and instant. I haven't used much physical money in the past 8 years and I rarely had any problems with that.

I don't think we will ever lose physical cash but it will definitely diminish and digital will take the majority share.  We are already mostly using digital money, even the money in our banks is all digital and when we pay using our cards it is digital, 
Myself I use physical cash far less than I did 5 years ago.

Some countries are trying to get rid of physical cash entirely...I can't remember the last time I pulled out $20 to pay someone back...

I do not know if it happened or not but if it happens then maybe we all did not exist. Letting the crypto completely replace the current currency requires a change in the entire economic structure around the world. especially state banks.

I personally feel that it's almost impossible to replace cash with money, for example, in China, there is alipay, but cash still has its role.

I think that we will continue to use paper money for a long time, along with active circulation of digital money. In order for the society to turn completely to the use of the crypto currency, special conditions for a material, technological and psychological plan are needed. Some people will not want to use crypto currency and this will be their right. Will someone make them switch to crypto currency? I think not. I know that Sweden and Denmark announced that they want to completely switch to the use of digital money and that in a few years they plan to do it, but I doubt that they will succeed.

As per the conditions we are facing today,digital currency may overpower paper money in future but paper money would never be replaced or ended. Because poverty,unequal distribution of wealth among people and illiteracy do not allow many people in the world to afford the risk or problems of hacking,etc. by completely depending on digital money.

But still it is impossible for bitcoin to replace fiat because not all people in the whole world knows how to use bitcoin especially the poor and uneducated unlike fiat everybody knew how to use it even the children. As fast as bitcoin is making the world astonish it just seems to be happening all around the world in coming time. Like you said, yes it can take maximum of the time maybe more than 2 3 decades but that will be happening and we all we will evidencing this.

Bitcoins are so fast and they are making places in markets and hearts of people, and definitely a time come when you would be having a cashless society.

for modern societies, this has pretty much been the case for some time now. credit and debit transactions are technically digital currency transactions, as there is a big difference between an ACH USD and and fiat dollar. we wont ever go completely cashless, as digital = electricity, and we shouldnt restrict ourselves to this one eventuality, in case something happens. but as far as the majority of transactions, ask any grocery store, gas station, bank. plastic is king,

Rarely doesn't mean never at all, yeah from my point of view, I answer "no" related to your poll. Why because not many merchants/retails do accept digital currency, or maybe traditional market in rural place we still need paper cash/ paper money. If this any relationship to bitcoin as digital currency of course the obstacle is really clear, beside many countries ban bitcoin as a payment it happens in my country the government ban it, so it is not recommended to against the rule, also not every place covered by internet. No internet doesn't mean there are no transactions so paper money is irreplaceable.  CMIIW

No, we still need paper money, many people think that we will be able to do everything with computers and digital technology but technology has its limits, poor people are not going to have access to bitcoin or to credit cards so paper money is going to be necessary for a long time.

No body can denies that we use physical money (paper) a lot in our daily life this is why we can not replace it, because buying a simple stuff with Bitcoin or anyother cryptocurrency will take time and money espacially when it is about high fees like it is happening now.
Also having you need to have a phone and an internet connection to make a transaction so here the papers are more efficient.

I never thought digital money would replace paper money. That can not happen. The price of digital money is not stable, it can not be used to buy everyday items. The most importantly, digital money is not accepted all over the world.
