Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's
computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be
reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

Perhaps I'm getting old but I cannot spot the spike on the chart you've linked.

thanks for putting the picture up wojak.
yeah a 40x spike on a fairly large coin is crazy. I assume someone just royally screwed up a buy order, very drunk maybe haha. I had 1 ETH in that trade, for a moment that one ether worth of WAVES was worth about $15k (42 ETH) haha.

LOL perhaps it was simply an exchange error or do you think someone did a really, really big buy up?

Wow, how can this happen though? I guess this could be a good reason to place some crazy bids, you can never know what happens

Well my sell order was hit during that spike. I mean it was only 18% up from my initial buy two days ago, but other than the two spikes to 0.6 ETH and 0.25 ETH it wouldn't have been hit. And the market history does show a big buy order going through at those numbers. So yeah it was real.

That doesn't seem normal at all. It is probably some mistake on the chart or someone is trying to do something interesting! I was expecting waves to hit more than 50x but not that soon , maybe in a year or so.

it's not a chart glitch. it happened. my sell order got processed on it. but obviously it was someone's mistake haha
