I haven't seen a official statement being release by BTC-e, can you please post a link otherwise saying that they are officially back? I know that they supposedly give its customer based update at the end of the month regarding the withdrawals or token that they will issue as well. I hope that they can really give back the funds lost during the seizure of US authorities because not all of the funds are tainted as "laundered" money and I believed that most of the money there are legally owned by a individual who works very hard every day trading to profit but all of a suddenly gone just like because it was seized. If this is true then this news will be very big, however, I can't find any as of this time.

just login btc-e.nz . the old domain of btc-e. check their twitter. then it's force u change your password. and u can login and see all balance before. and btc-e add bitcoin cash for u too

This is their thread and you can find whats the latest updates regarding on the site https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2135397.0 .. For now im lazy enough to translate it to english and i find out the link on their twitter page. Seems legit as of now but they should really make updates on english language too.

Half is better than zero, many people have lost hopes of them coming back but looks like users of btc-e got lucky to get atleast half of the amount they thought they have lost.

I just checked their twitter account and its look like they are back as promised. This is a very welcoming news for everyone who has still funds in that exchange so that they can get their funds out of it. Here is a snippet from their website:

1. Your password will be reset mandatorily, you will have to generate a new password when you log in, or use a new password provided by us using a special option.

2. Change 2fa, delete an old key and create a new one.

3. Check the list of white IPs and delete inactive or irrelevant IPs.

I do hope that this news will spread out. I checked the thread and its listed on Russian so maybe we need someone to translate it if hadn't done so. They really fulfilled their promised that they will be back at Sept 1. Congrats to the team, although its gonna be a uphill battle against the Feds. But for sure you will get a lot of support from here.

This is really amazing news for all of those who got their bitcoin stucked there for months. Don't know how they will be able to resume all of their operation in normal way like before but this shows that they are trying their best to come back. Hope all of their users will be able to withdraw all they have in btc-e.

People are happy because it looks like they are being given back their coins to a certain extent, and that's definitely good news. However, I am also of believe that people should be thinking wisely before returning to this exchange with full confidence - literally nothing guarantees people here that BTC-E will keep running. With this I am mainly referring to the US authorities that will put everything in practice to shut down their relaunched platform as well. There are simply too many serious allegations against this exchange to let it pass. Another thing is that there is still the $110M fine that they have to settle...

If it's a phishing attempt, it's incredibly elaborate. It would mean that every account they are using to communicate and their old, un-seized domains are compromised. It would mean everything is compromised. That would mean there is no possible chance of any recovery anyway, and that the admins have disappeared.

In that case, there is no need to phish, since there will be no refunds. The only logical conclusion at that point is that the site is a honeypot run by the US government, INTERPOL, etc.

Everything about this reeks of being legit, down to their recognizable broken English.

Me? It's basic security. Just like you don't provide your credit card information to payyypal.ck.

Obviously phishing BTC-E passwords is of no value now. But many people use the same passwords on all sites and getting emails people have used on an exchange is incredibly valuable. And if that exchanges' assets may be distributed in the future, much more.

Moreover, I said "could".

After careful research, if it's a phishing attempt it's obvious as a previous member said it's really elaborate, however a simple email hack would answer the question. I will not research anymore but I do not see the risk anywhere near as I did when I posted before. I would try first with fake login information or wait for feedback (if there's still none). Update: there's feedback. It's the real BTC-E site.

After all these years, I still haven't learned not to give advice...

After many promises to open and return the money in the account. And they have done, btc number in my account is still enough. I'm not sure I would dare to trust them. But this is good news. At least we do not lose completely.
