Doing my first water cooled mining rig.  Using a semi parallel EK Quad block.

I'll drop a 6850K (40 PCIe lanes) in the X99 mobo so that each GPU can get 8 lanes.  In my other rigs I have found that as I add GPUs, the amount I can overclock each one goes down.  I'm going to see if its a PCEe lane issue, or some other CPU type bottleneck.  This test rig should help determine that.

It will look pretty too being all black and red coordinated.  Cheesy

Hi guys! Thanks for the thread, I enjoy reading it every day Smiley

I've just bought 2x Delta's 2400W with 2x PICO adapters so I can connect the PSU's to my MB's, but both MB's won't start when I press the power on switch. It just spins for 2-3 sec the CPU fan and that's all. I see the PICO has a 4 pin connector for CPU and motherboard has a 8 pin connector... but on parallel miner site says that should work. Both MB are Biostar TB250-BTC Pro v6.0, so I'm thinking I've miss something.

PICO adapters: http://www.parallelminer.com/product/160watt-24pin-atx-power-module-included-sata-molex-cpu-power-connectors-bypass-your-atx-power-supply-entirely/#close

MB: https://www.amazon.com/Biostar-Motherboard-TB250-BTC-PRO-Supports/dp/B0736PV196

Any advice is appreciated! Thanks.

Are you powering one Delta per rig?

I have the same board and 1 single delta can power up 12 x RX470 (modded and undervolted, slightly OCed).

I suspect not enough power to the motherboard.

During the first boot - get 4-5 cards working first and ensure 4G is enabled on mobo BIOS.

After successful boot up with 4-5 cards, then get the remaining cards's risers inserted.

Yes, one Delta per rig, I wanted to build 2 rigs of 8 Vega64, but it seems I'm stuck. For the moment I have on both rigs 1 x Vega, on one rig it's in the 16x slot and in another is on riser. Still no luck, both are not powering up.

How did you connect the Delta from 12 x Rx470 rig with the Biostar MB? Also with the 160W PICO adapter?

From Pico, the 4pin PCIE goes to CPU and the other cable that powers the mobo via Pico goes to the breakout board.

Thanks for the pictures citronick:)
It's the same in my case... but for some reasons it's not working. On the breakout board does it says 12,6 on each of them when you turn the delta's switch on?

12.6 on the LED is normal -- thats the voltage apparently -- dont worry about that.

Can you re-seat your RAMs - and try again?

Ensure that you have enough amps on your power rails too - get 1 rig to work first -- if both rigs are on same circuit.

Power rails -> you mean the cable who goes into the socket from the wall? It's a 10 amps cable IS-14.

I've just noticed there is a LED on the back of Delta's that is blinking green:

It's ok?

be careful with those x99 motherboards, I have a two gigabyte ones with 6800cpus and 16gb ram for max lanes and still i could not get over 4 cards to run on those boards, tried AMD and Nvidia

Fortunately I'll only be doing 4 cards.  That's all that will fit. Cheesy

From PICO to CPU power.... you only need to stick that 4pin male on the right-hand side of the 8pin female slot.

The first 4pin female on the left-hand side is left un-used. In this case, a converter is not required.

The blinking green LED at the back seems to indicate that it doesn't detect full 220-240volt current.

The Deltas, as I understand works only with 220-240v current - and doesn't work for 110-120v.

Did you wire up the pico power plug? Could be worth checking the screw terminals are secure, not shorting and have the right polarity?

Hi guys! Thanks for the thread, I enjoy reading it every day Smiley

I've just bought 2x Delta's 2400W with 2x PICO adapters so I can connect the PSU's to my MB's, but both MB's won't start when I press the power on switch. It just spins for 2-3 sec the CPU fan and that's all. I see the PICO has a 4 pin connector for CPU and motherboard has a 8 pin connector... but on parallel miner site says that should work. Both MB are Biostar TB250-BTC Pro v6.0, so I'm thinking I've miss something.

PICO adapters: http://www.parallelminer.com/product/160watt-24pin-atx-power-module-included-sata-molex-cpu-power-connectors-bypass-your-atx-power-supply-entirely/#close

MB: https://www.amazon.com/Biostar-Motherboard-TB250-BTC-PRO-Supports/dp/B0736PV196

Any advice is appreciated! Thanks.

My MB's need 8 pin with the Delta, get one of these to rule that out: https://www.ebay.com/p/4-to-8-Pin-EPS-12v-ATX-Motherboard-Power-Supply-Adapter-Converter-Cable/1000233766

Thanks for the help. I will try also with a 8 pin adapter, I think this could be the issue.

That's not the issue. I have the same mobo and PSU and mine work ok with just a 4-pin.

Strange problem...not sure why yours won't work.

Hello guys. I got my first AMD gpu for my farm. All of my previous cards were nvidia.

Hope you can help me with performance, temp and power issue.

My new card is an Aorus RX 580 8GB Hynix installed in a rig with 2x1070 and 4x1060.

OS:Win10 pro
Driver:amd blockchain driver(aug 23) + amd settings (wattman)+ ati pixel patch

Miner: claymore v10.0
EthDcrMiner64.exe  -mode 1 -platform 1 -epool eth-sg.dwarfpool.com:8008 -ewal 0xAAAAAAA -epsw x

at stock bios and stock clocks and voltages:
ethash: 22Mh/s @ 120W with temps reaching 80C

I already did the most basic bios mod of copying 1750 -> 2000 timing straps
Bios Editor: Polaris Bios Editor v1.6.2(https://github.com/jaschaknack/PolarisBiosEditor)
ethash: 25Mh/s @ 120W with temps reaching 80C

Does anyone here have good roms for this card?
What hash rates are you getting at what power consumption and temps?
Are you guys using the blockchain driver? Should I shift back to regular drivers?
Are you able to unlock core voltage controls in MSI afterburner?

Should I just give this card away? It really suxors.

I think we have a winner here!

Just got a few dozen 1050tis for a special project - a single Delta with 18 x 1050ti - I need to test that ASUS 19-GPU board.

@henyojess - I am moving from AMD to NVIDIA, you are the few I know going to the other side of the hood :-)

I have tons of AMD cards, I have a small NVIDIA farm now and loving it.

Power efficiency, cool and no need to mess with ROMs - what not to like?

If I provided you good and useful info or just a smile to your day, consider sending me merit points to further validate this Bitcointalk account ~ useful for future account recovery...

Shitty profitability (as in hash per dollar), insanely long wait until you break even, constant search for the next shitcoin to rape.

But other than that, everything's peachy!  Grin

Seriously though, I haven't touched my AMD rigs since I switched them to Monero 2 months ago. And before that I didn't touch them while they were happily dual-mining ETH+whatever. Once you've set them up, they're extremely low maintenance. nVidia tends to be the other way around... unless you're setting them on ZEC and accept lower profits. My nVidia rig has been mining LBRY, ZEC, ZEN, Zcoin, BTCZ and auto-switching all over the last month. Oh and SIGT while it was still up.
