Btw I kept defending them but I'm actually quite fed up with suprnova now. I'm pretty certain they're skimming. ETN is just another example. Calculators estimate 30-40% more than what I effectively made over at Suprnova. Ofc I cannot prove it as long as I don't run rigs in parallel, but I'm just accumulating bad experiences.

You're not alone.  I have wondered about that for some time now.  I never seem to make as much on that pool as any of the others even though they usually have the highest amount of hashing power on a given coin.  I only use them if there is not another pool that run the coins I am interested in.
Is there another pool out there where one will be able to mine BTG without a wallet? This is one of the features I actually like about Suprnova.

Thanks for pointing out binance few days ago
Yup same here I dont want to deal with the wallet madness for at least a week until things calm down

I have already got my BTG address using Coinomi wallet - so I will use this to catch the early bird.

Once I get the Binance BTG address - I can switch to that address.
3 hours before release and Nicehash equihash hasn't gone up a bit. Looks the demand for hash really isn't picking up. Might have to switch to the main coin after all...

Why would it go up before mainnet is released?

yeah  I have everything on zec/nicehash

I will  wait till monday  before   I make any moves.

I did very well the last 24 hours  moving  between btc bcc btg on 2 exchanges

Same I got into some btg at $150 and sold last night around $420. Worked out very well.

Phil/Citronick

Would a single EVGA Supernova 1600 G2 have enough connectors for six Vega 56's (with 8+6 PCIe connectors), as well as the 3 sata and 3 molex connectors on the Onda D1800? I'm struggling to understand the specs of the PSU. And buying additional splitters and cables gets quite annoying when those brands prevent you from using third party cables...

no you would be short     1 molex

it has 2 molex cables  you need 3

it has 4 sata cables    you need 3

it has 4x   2 headed pcie  8+6  that is 4 1080ti's

it has 5x  1 headed pcie 8 pin  that is 2 1080 ti's

so you have 1 extra pcie 8 pin

it has 2 cpu    you need 1

so you have 1 extra

and the 1x 24 pin

I may have a molex for you.

Was this due to the allegedly unluckiness of the software? I remember some of that conversation on another thread (which will remain unnamed)...

I was wondering why until I saw this post by Antpool in Twitter...

So my 1.72 PH is getting best of both worlds - BTC/BCH profit auto-switching? Can something verify this if true?

I know ViaBTC does this.... but Antpool doing this behind everyone's back is unethical.... but should I care? because I am still paid in BTC!
..

Bitmain doesn't care where the hash rate goes as long as people keep buying their mining hardware and point it at their pool(s). If I recall, Bitmain's own pool(s) are PPS and they do not share any of the transaction fees in the mined blocks with the miners, correct?

Yeah... the S9s were at that unnamed pool ... Juvia and her minions got over 20 blocks there Grin ... BUT he claimed that the S9s seems to be bring "bad luck" to the pool... so with a heavy heart I pulled out 108 x S9s mining there back to the mothership. Over time, all my Avalons A721s, A741s moved out too and spread across f2pool, viaBTC (BTC/BCH profit-switching) and Antpool.

I remember the Juvia blocks (and knew the Juvia reference before you explained it...  Grin ) , and wondered where you'd disappeared to. I had tried to mine there, but had issues, so my miners have floated around a bit. They were mining on ck's latest pool (see my sig) to help sort it out, but I just moved them to ViaBTC to try that out for a while.

I was mining with them at ck's new pool. I think he's got a good payout idea/plan in his new pool software, but he doesn't have enough hash rate to find blocks in a reasonable amount of time, so the pool hash rate jumps up and down, usually between 500 TH and 1.5 PH as miners come and go. Luckily I was there and fully vested, so to speak, when the pool found it's only block to date.

In the past, I believed in the support for decentralization but I soon realized that I am a tiny fish in the big pond and what I should be really need to do was bring focus in making money, ROI the investment, think like Phil's signature about BTC and Alts.... and still be a part of the new economy - be it BTC or BCH or BTG etc...

I'm with Phil on that PHILosophy, too. BTC is great, but I made my stake in LTC. It's funded my other stakes, miners, and now WTT tokens so I can host miners at a place with cheap electricity. My next miner upgrade is to buy two 1070Ti cards (one EVGA hybrid that Phil recommends/uses, and a Zotac Mini) to mine equihash coins (ZenCash for now, until there is a sane/safe BTG wallet). It'll be a step up from my single R7-370 which has long since reached ROI when it was mining ETH.

Antpool has a PPS+, which is PPS plus Tx sharing. I am currently mining in that scheme with merge-mining NMC.

Nice that Antpool made the change. That makes it more equitable for the miners, especially in a world where transaction fees per block are growing.

No mining at the moment.

Ok ok ok I see. Had a hard time figuring out the specs, as they're not very clearly listed (well they are, but not clear enough for me Tongue). Thanks for the offer, but I've got some spare EVGA periph/molex cables from my other EVGA PSUs. Should work out fine.

Anyone using cryptonight these days? I'm still switching between equihash coins zen and zec but feel it doesn't make a difference.

Well @ launch suprnova doesnt seem to be working for me..

In the IT world that's known as the "thundering herd." In this case all pools are being slammed with miners trying to be the first to strike it big in BTG.

It may take a while for the pools to be able to handle all the miners. Be patient...

No mining at the moment.

Apparently they are still premining until block 499407. That's 8000 blocks premined since the fork. Why are we still so excited about this?

@phil

youll probably like this: we are about the pull the trigger on a ground mounted 6 kilowatt solar array with suntracking.  20 cell system with two axis tracking on a single mast. we will almost certainly add a second 6k system identical to that down the line. it will have net metering, so i wont sell back to the electric co, it will just add and subtract power cost as we go.

they are booked out till may next year though Sad so may 2018 it will go in.

Anyone has any idea the expected hashrate for Vega 56, rx 570 and 1070?

Mine is only 420 for vega 56, 450 for 1070 and 270 for rx 570. Is this right?

G2 cables exchange across all models *EXCEPT* the G2L stuff.

Not sure otherwise, as all of my EVGA supplies are G2 models.

450 is reasonable for a GTX 1070 at a fairly high TDP.
Not sure on the 570, my 470 models that's about where they end up at so should be about right.

I saw all the buzz and traction coming, so I bought right at +25% and rode it all the way until now...  Went over +100%, then backed off... but its still close to +75% so I am happy
