We can't deny it. Bitcoin now is the mode of payments on smuggling and illegal drugs both locally and international.

But do they think that because they are using bitcoin they are gonna be safe from authorities? I've the police want to track them, its easy because everything is exposed on the blockchain. Or they an used Chainalysis to hunt them down. Criminals do find the bitcoin can be used for illegal activities like drugs, but fiat is also more widely used. And its not anonymous by the way, if criminals do think that way.

Its not the fault of bitcoin that criminals have exploited its design for their acts. So stop the blame on bitcoin.

is this really different than using fiat for drug? i can't see the difference, bitcoin is not dirty because it's used for bad stuff, people that use for this kind of things are dirty and should be arrested

Drugs and smuggling has been there way before bitcoins emergence.  It could be true that they could be using bitcoin as payment today but we can't deny that smugglers and drug dealers have been doing transactions when bitcoin was not yet around. Bitcoin is just a currency,  although its digital but its still a currency,  and you can never blame a currency how its used.

How do you want to back those claims? Who says these people are not using some other Alt coin? Let's take Monero as a

example. It is more anonymous than Bitcoin and a much better Crypto currency for these kinds of crimes. If you stop

believing all the shit that are published in the media, you would acknowledge that Fiat currencies are 100% more suitable

for smuggling and drugs. Cash is much more anonymous and widely accepted..... why would you want to use Bitcoin?

haha, maybe you can put your head in the sand and deny it but anyone else with half a brain knows this is the most ridiculous statement of all times as long as USD exists and is strong among all the currencies.

and anyone with tiniest of knowledge about cryptocurrencies knows that your statement is again the most ridiculous as long as cryptocurrneis such as XMR exist and are strong in keeping the anonymity!

Such rumors especially spread by the bankers and the government. With the advent of bitcoin they are rapidly losing their income and power. They have started a campaign to discredit crypto currencies. This is a typical example of how they will act.

How sure are you?  Bitcoin is not yet recognized in the entire universe so it is unjust to say that bitcoin is the mode of payments on smuggling and illegal drugs.  But we cannot deny the fact that since it is a more convenient way for transactions or to pay or buy things because there is no details as to who will accept the money or who delivers it.  But if you will do the transaction using coins.ph, it is impossible not to know who is who.

First of all, illegal practices are prevalent in every monetary system, be it cash, paypal, cryptocurrencies, banks or anything. Recently, there was a news that illegal practices in Bitcoin have reduced to half. Soon the figure will decrease more as Bitcoin is getting largely into white market. I agree Bitcoin is pseudonymous and can be made completely anonymous through mixers. But cash is equally anonymous which is the major mode of funding terrorists and is done by some major countries and banks. Every technology comes with some drawbacks. Bitcoin is all about freedom. But freedom has its own limitations.

What's your point? All currency including bitcoin are actively being used for various illegal transaction. Obviously bitcoin (and other currency) isn't the fault here and the criminals are the one should be arrested.
Furthermore, bitcoin isn't the best currency for illegal transaction. Cryptocurrency which offer anonymity such as zerocoin, zcash or monero are better than bitcoin.

Exactly!!! Fiat currency is used for more illegal transactions every day than Bitcoin, so why all the fuss?!

Bitcoin isn't even anonymous, it is only pseudo-anonymous and isn't connected to the TOR network.

This is exactly my point of reasoning that since 2008, have people not been engaging in criminal activites, have people not been hacking banks, sell drugs or guns, have they not been financing terrorism among other several reasons but because they want to nail bitcoin,  but the more they try, the more they fail.

Are we listening about smuggling or drugs for first time? Is it started after bitcoin? Indeed no. All this was happening much before bitcoin so there is no reason blaming it for illegal activities. Such activities are outcomes of human brain, currencies are just medium. It can be used as good or bad, all depends upon users.

I think that the opposite is happening.
Bitcoin was used for illegal things, but its use is declining.
I really think that it has become a problem to convert larger amounts of bitcoin into fiat when exchanges are getting more regulated.
When a criminal has to give his identification in order to convert bitcoin into fiat, he will simply take fiat in the first place.

Due to bitcoin's nature being decentralized, the government of each country are having a hard time tracking down illegal transactions due to it especially under the dark web. This is also the reason on why some countries ban the usage of bitcoin due to being difficult to regulate and criminals use it as an avenue to buy illegal stuff. But we also must consider that there are also a variety of ways on transacting illegal goods, not only through bitcoin. In my opinion, the benefits and opportunities that bitcoin provides to the public overshadow the negative implications that it brought.

i don't know your basis OP there's a lots of possible ways that we should see bitcoin for creating popularity and attract more investors to go in and invest with this system we don't need to think about bad things as we knew that every currency can be use as well and bitcoin if treated that way is not exempted
we should help this system to be more known with its many uses so it will serve its purpose.
