Is the silk road even using Bitcoin anymore? Does it use Monero? It would make sense to use Monero or DeepOnion because they provide anonymity.

Why can't we deny it? I deny it. You mean to say that, until 2008, smuggling and drugs? Lol! If you count how many turns of dollars in illegal transactions it will turn out that bitcoin is an honest currency. You probably don't understand and just listening to propaganda.

That's true, because of it's features people judging and trying to say things about bitcoin but as far as I concern bitcoin has lower illegal transactions than other currencies or fiat. Bitcoin brings future in currencies and that is a thing we cannot deny. We should look at the positive more than the negative side of bitcoin, because we all know that bitcoin has bright future.

Just like fiat, it isn't Bitcoins' fault if smugglers are choosing it as the way to get away with their deeds without being caught. You must be familiar with extortionists and smugglers as well as criminals who ask their extortion money in many ways such as gold, platinum and sometimes, even through some high rated chemicals which could harm the society at their highest extent, it doesn't mean people stopped using those assets, do they? It is a question of worry of course, but bitcoin is still very far from being in the grasp of these enemies of the society.

Are you talking about Silk Road 3.0? I am not sure, but I think they accept both BTC and XMR. And till now, I don't think that any of the dark market sites have started using the other anonymous currencies such as DeepOnion, BlackBytes and Zcash.

The thing is using Bitcoin on illegal transaction is possible because it is a currency of the internet transaction and some part of the internet is not accessible by all or by the government it self and it is what other called deepweb or darkeweb where transaction is always anonymous so transactions on illegal thing is possible.

I agree that bitcoin itself doesn't affect volumes of illegal transactions. Unfortunately, elimination of cryptocurrency will not help to stop smuggling

I do not really know such a thing.
but in my view, evil is everywhere. in the real world is also a lot. other online payment tools often used crime

so not just as you say about bitcoin.
this depends on someone's invidu. if someone is good, he will do a good thing, and also the opposite.
that's my opinion.

Drugs and smuggling has been there way before bitcoins emergence.  It could be true that they could be using bitcoin as payment today but we can't deny that smugglers and drug dealers have been doing transactions when bitcoin was not yet around. Bitcoin is just a currency,  although its digital but its still a currency,  and you can never blame a currency how its used.
We could not hide the fact that having an illegal transaction with Bitcoin on drugs, guns or even on black market is possible. Because of its transaction through the web the most government dont have reach with. Although it is possible there is still thing that is need to consider on dealing with illegal things such as bitcoin price and value.

Well can't fiat can be used for smuggling or buying drugs.Bitcoins can be used in such illegal activities as I think it is little bit hard to track the transactions because if anonymity of bitcoins and also that governments can't control bitcoins as it is decentralised. But a currency us used in illegal activities we can't do anything as which currency can't be used in such activities so it isn't bitcoins fault being used illegally it's people who use it for bad things are at fault.

Well you said that bitcoin is a way of smuggling that is what most people do but what did you do with yours. People who are using bitcoin for smuggling are happy doing it and giving bad image to bitcoin, if you are not using it for same purpose as they are, then there is a difference between you and them.

I think your statement is just to bad-mouth the bitcoin. I do not think so. despite having an anonymous system. there are still many considerations to transact with bitcoin.

bitcoins can be misused by  some people to fund terrorism and buy illegal stuffs. They misuse the advantage of BTC by doing so, their identity would be unknown, all the government would know is a wallet address.
This is also one of the reason why governments of different countries are not accepting bitcoins.
Thete is no transfer record of BTC being used in buying illegal stuffs so no one can say that bitcoins are actually used their

In my personal opinion I don't think that any terrorist group would accept bitcoins . Why would they ? Where would they use it?

Definitely. That's why there're always some advise (or FUD depending on how you sees it) that says not to HODL your BTC because eventually when countries like USA starts to regulate the cryptocurrency industry heavily, that would ultimately be the end but I would say do your own research and only invest in what you can afford to lose.

Bitcoin isn't well-suited for hiding transactions, because it's a public ledger - there are already some tools that can help you trace transactions, and since they are stored on blockchain forever, even more historical transactions might be traced in the future. This is why criminals actually prefer physical cash or digital pre-paid cards, as they are much better for their privacy. This conclusion is only reinforced by the fact that recent news about crackdowns on illegal darknet markets had no negative impact on Bitcoin's price.

We can not stop and cover the facts that bitcoin transaction has been used in illegal transactions and people that are doing it really have a convenience with this kind of technology, even if the authority can surely see the transaction base was they can not find or track down who is the one doing the transaction it is really anonymous that is why criminals are using it to cover for them and get out to the crimes that they have make.

Whos the one denying it? No one does and I'm sure most people who do make use of bitcoin do really knows about this stuff on which it can really be used on illegal stuffs considering that it is an anonymous thing on which bad people would really make us this as an advantage on their transactions. Its sad that this coin or innovation have been used on this kind of doings but we cant really avoid such thing.

Its not only bitcoin they use for doing illegal activities such as smuggling, laundering money or selling illegal drugs. What do you think they used before crypto-currencies were invented? They used traditional money.
You can't just blame it o bitcoin. Everything has its good or bad sides. It is how you use it matters.

Bitcoin is used less than fiat, which is the preferred currency of crime. I have only seen one scientific study on the matter. It concluded that less than 1% of bitcoin transactions were criminal. Over 90% of fiat bills in the U.S. have traces of cocaine on them, for comparison.

People can use anything to commit a crime. We can not blame the tools used to commit crimes because the tool is a dead object. People use paper money to commit crimes too, not just bitcoin, but I never heard someone blames the existence of the paper money.
