perhaps someone in this forum could please give me some guidence.

If anyone has experience with older versions of Armory, i could use some help with methods of recovery.  re: lost paper wallet.

1.  assuming i had an Armory version downloaded somepoint in 2013 (cant find older versions)....should most recent version be able to import old .wallet file?
2.  where was old .wallet file default dir?  can i assume it was C:/users/appdata/roaming?
3.  because bitcoin qt was required to run at the same time.....was a wallet.dat file created?
4. is there a way of opening this file to see public addresses(accounts) within?
5. is there any way i can download a 2013 version of Armory...so i can replicate install, defaultbackup and test.

I have 30 drives to deepscan......so knowing excactly which file to use will help me out huge!

thanks in advance.....

Armory Fan since day 1.

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

First things first, there's an Armory section on the forums, and last time I've read, Armory's website wasn't in control of the current developer.

1. Yes, I think current versions should be able to open your wallet file.
2. Yes, default home directory for Armory should have your file
3. If left on default, a wallet.dat file was created, however it doesn't have anything to do with your Armory install
4. I assume not

2. The default directory for armory is C:\Users\(username )\AppData\Roaming\Armory\   and the file should be something like armory_(wallet identifier)_.wallet

3. The Bitcoin Core wallet is in C:\Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Bitcoin\   and is called wallet.dat. You don't want that one.

These directories are for recent (Windows 10 etc) windows operating systems. Older ones I'm not sure.  I don't have an answer for questions 1 and 4.

ok,  so i should be able to recover using .wallet
that raises 2 questions.

1.  i can view multiple wallets now, after a few imports, but these wallets are not showing multiple addresses as they should.

2.  i have maidsafe on 2 of theses addresses,  can armory create a wallet.dat of recovered .wallet for use in importing wallet to a maidsafe wallet (omniwallet)....in other words is wallet.dat updated to contain imported  .wallet files ?

thanks
t
