I'm curious what Waves fans think of Cardano. Seems like they're all big talk at this point.

Interesting you should compare Waves to Cardano. Waves is just about in the same place as far as market caps go as ADA was right before it blew up.
Make sure you back up your wallet regularly! Unlike a bank account, nobody can help you if you lose access to your BTC.

Are the bitcoin addresses in Waves client derived from the same seed? Does that mean that I do not have to backup the private keys of the bitcoin address, but only have to remember the Waves seed to always have access? The same question I have for the Ethereum and ZCash wallet in Waves client.
.
Bitcoin tokens on Waves (WBTC, and other  Ethereum  - WETH etc) are belongs to the same account as Waves itself (one seed per account). But when you withdraw funds to real Bitcoin network (via gateways) you have to own and properly backup private keys of the bitcoin address you enter during the withdrawal process.

in the new waves client, you can make evidently more transactions than in the "old" lite client.
so do not hesit to upgrade.

Is waves considered a 3rd generation blockchain?

Everyone has a different definition. Some call it the third generation, some the second generation. In any case, Waves belongs in a row (or generation) of Ethereum, NEM etc.

An excellent project with a great future. For sure we will be able to see the price of $ 1000 after a few years. What do you think about this, gentlemen?

Sounds like wishful thinking. I'm wishing for it too though. I'd be sitting on a couple hundred thousand dollars if so.

Have the smart contracts been pushed back? Or are they still on track for the original timeline?

I agree. The facebook disaster has showed that there is a strong need for decentralized alternatives. Blockchain technology is perfect for it. Although there were failed attempts - as Sasha mentioned - there are already good and successful examples like steemit.

Interesting, does this mean Waves is working on a Steemit competitor? I guess maybe a fairer reward system than Steemit would be good, it does take a lot to build up such a platform though. Hope to hear more from this soon.

This is not a confirmed information and there hasn't been any article leaked about this in the past but it is not impossible for Waves to have something like a Steemit competitor or a social media platform that is decentralized. We all know that Waves tend to help and invest to those projects that looks promising so if there will be anyone who could come up with such great idea, I think they will wholeheartedly back it up. And with the partnerships that they are building in the past years, I wouldn't surprised if Waves will come up with one of their own social media platform.

Have the smart contracts been pushed back? Or are they still on track for the original timeline?

I believe it hasn't been pushed back yet but I think what's happening right now is that Waves still has this issue of not hitting their announced timeline. I'm sure that it will happen but I'm expect some delay from it (just by looking at their past implementations of their features/projects).

This is a very important event, which we, the investors, are waiting with great desire, and the time is known for the atomic swap?

From my understanding, there isn't a date set for atomic swap but it is being worked on. I'd love to know if there is a time frame on that as well. I am glad to see smart contracts are coming up REALLY soon.

Now seems like a really good time to buy Waves because I don't see this bear market lasting too much longer. Does anyone else agree?

I definitely agree. Especially with all the upcoming features. I think it is best to HODL right now or buy in if you haven't already.

Good to know I'm not the only one in this boat. Smiley April is going to be a big month for Waves.

I agree I know Waves is not a pump and dump coin but with the coming huge update I'm sure the price will pump, we hope to see more projects on Waves platform, ethereum is getting ahead on us and there are a new platform Credits getting a lot of buzz.

It's projects like these that make me really excited for the future of the crypto world. Good job on this project. I am wondering if you guys already have the blockchain messenger out or if that is still in the works? I think that is a really cool idea and I'd like to try it out Smiley

Does anyone know?
still on work, smart-contract should come first

Okay. Thanks for the reply!

Is atomic swap a feature that Waves is actively working on? Was it publicly announced or is it just assumption? I know it will be a huge game changer when it is implemented, but I wasn't sure if it was publicly expressed that Waves is prioritizing it. Although, I wouldn't be surprised if they were the ones to do it. Just wondering.
