Anyway. Until KNC comes with a statement that indeed they cut the number of chips in half but still keep the same price, why start speculating?

Seems to me this is by far the most fair way to do it.

That smells like BS to me.

What if I don't want a Mars? I have to wait behind 1000 people who bought one. Lets face it you would only buy one to get the jump on an asic. If you wanted an FPGA there are a few places you can get one and be running next week.

So we have to take a punt on a mars and hope that eventually, fingers crossed we get a Jupiter. That's bollocks. Not only that, they seem pretty vague on the discount. It says UP TO $2000 not $2000 so how many mars units do I have to buy to get the full $2k discount?

I think we're being led around by the nose here. They never said anything to me about buying a Mars in order to get in the asic queue. When I emailed them yesterday they said this:

"We have your registrations and if the orders are paid for when we open up for payment we don’t see why you can’t be included in the first set of boxes to ship"

Now you're telling me I have to buy an FPGA, before I get in on the first batch. Really? I can get one on ebay thanks. Good luck to anyone buying one of these things.

Hi all

Ok let me try and clear up some confusion,

1, Mars photo.
 The picture is indeed half of a Mars device so you can see inside. If I published a photo of the full device all you would see was a 240mm fan, it would be worth less as a photo. The full device has 48 chips in. I will post more photos of the full 48 chips later and it will appear in the video as 48 chips. The people attending the open day will be able to see all 48 chips working etc etc.


2, Queue position.
  You do not have to buy a Mars to ensure that you get a Jupiter in the first few days. Our current pre order queue is sequential including all devices. So all queue positions are unique. The example I gave in the email reply was that if you have position 10 for Mars we hold position 10 open in the Jupiter queue for 30 days.  This is where its possibly my fault, I failed to mention in my reply to that email that if someone simply ordered Jupiter in front of you they have position 9 (since all pre order queue numbers are unique) That will mean they get the devices they ordered before the person upgrading who had position 10.

I hope this makes those two points clear.

Yifu has mentioned that he really can't see anyone producing a 2rd generation/28nm at this point in time 2013 and he stated that end of 2014 he will have the new gen chip, I hope he knows what he is talking? We need buyers protection and not end up like butterflies.

We need this protection because Butterfly took our money since June 2012, many of us order the single 60gh/s miner and none received them, except for some developers and they are still shipping drip by drip of the butterfly 5gh/s Jalapeno from last June 2012 order. I suggest if you can be 100% confident that you can shipped in 4 weeks to 5 weeks after collecting payments many of us will do the order. The problem is the waiting period that everyone is so concern and worry. The best way to proceed is always show your working and functioning Jupiter and Saturn prototype asic miner and later on in about 5 weeks later you will delivered to them the ASIC MIner as promised. This make everyone happy. No body want to wait 4 to 5 months with all the money tie up at your end because they know they can get some avalon chips in 8 weeks and another week to assemble and they you go a working asic miner. We can guarantee if you could provide this kind of service your business will be good.
