The grue lurks in the darkest places of the earth. Its favorite diet is adventurers, but its insatiable appetite is tempered by its fear of light. No grue has ever been seen by the light of day, and few have survived its fearsome jaws to tell the tale.

I have a Jalapeno sitting next to me doing 5.5GH/s for 45watts.  Grin

That said, get any voltage unlocked 7950 or 7970. They can reach some impressive numbers for a GPU. However, you want to look at profitability, not most energy efficient. Here's what I mean:

I can undervolt to increase my MHs/watt to 2-2.5x stock, but I actually lose profitability.

@crazyates, rather than clamor for your order #, I'll just say Congrats!

And yes, I would agree the 7950 and 7970 are the best cards. In my mining experience the 7950 runs a bit cooler than the 7970 so you can push it further. There are a few FPGA's being re-sold around the forum that would have a pretty good hash to watt ratio. I wouldn't pay more than $1 per Megahash though at this point (for example $860 for an 860Mh/s FPGA).
