Nothing. It'll still be the same as before: people buying and selling bitcoins and trading it like there's nothing happened, though there will be more attention drawn to it since it achieved yet another record. New checkpoints can be set again for the price like $7000, $10000 or whatever.

I don't think anything spectacular will happen. There's a lot of new people flowing into cryptos, so it's quite likely that BTC will just keep rising even if current hodlers cash in their profits.

It could go either way. My prediction though, is that after we reach $5000, we would have another short bull run to at around $5300-$5700 due to all the news headlines like "Bitcoin reaches $5000! soon to be $1000", or "Bitcoin hits $5000! insert random pro investor's name here predicts it will be $10,000 next year!". You know what I mean. Then the bear trend will take place shortly after we hit the $5300-$5700 price mark.

nothing special. it's not a big jump compared to the current price.

btw i think it will lead to some dump of btc price.

If it does, even though it was close but took a retreat in the last few days, what I see happening is several thread asking the same questions all over again but this time, would probably be about when it will reach $6000 or even $10000 other than that nothing out of the ordinary will be happening.

I think first of all, whether it will or not still remains a pretty big question mark.

We came pretty close to achieving that level but the resistance was strong enough to bring the price down to what we started with at the start of the week, which is concerning as usually we would break through with ease.

But if it does, i think that short term wise $5k will be established a floor(until the bubble bursts), and we'd be looking at $5500-5700. Every time we break a barrier it always overshoots by at least a few hundred dollars.

i think nothing is going to happen but bitcoin will continue increasing and very soon it will set another high level. because still bitcoin has a great potential and it will continue for a long long time. it is not going to stop at 5000$ but it will continue increasing for next few years and hope that in last month of 2017 bitcoin will be trading above 7000$.
