It's pretty bad currently, most countries regulators don't really understand crypto-currencies and since ICOs are technically crowdsales or crowdfunding limits there ability beyond outright banning (China) which then restricts fin-tech companies from innovation. Catch 22 really.

The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

I think regulations will bring some calm to a very chaotic situation. I read somewhere (I'm too lazy to find the reference) that there are about 60 new ICOs a week. Many of those are on face value not really worth anything - some of the ideas don't make much sense and the link to blockchain is tenuous at best. So in this regard, regulation in the ICO space will calm things down and hopefully eradicate the scams.

However, I don't believe regulation will be easy to implement, mostly due to the entire system being decentralised. It will be virtually impossible to police unless the entire world's countries agree to implement the regulations.

In reality, we will likely see a mass correction through self regulation. People will become aware of the pitfalls and and the dynamics at play, and understand the pros cons of an ICO more pertinently. If there are government imposed regulations, it will probably fall along the same lines as anti money laundering and KYC laws, with guidelines for both backers as well as companies offering the tokens.

I think right now, however, the more conservative amongst us are hoping some sort of regulatory framework will be published to at least take away some of the uncertainty.

Yes, it is always good because money will be secured in government hands and also what they mentioned in Roadmap they need to develop. Around the globe, there are many companies have ideas but don't have money to start those this is going to be the best opportunity to those companies.

Yes ICO should be regulated some people are involved with the scam in the name of ICO . They are doing professionally . I think there should be some strict rules in Bitcointalk for ICO because it is the largest and most knowing Forum in cryptoworld. Even some people are coming up with claiming good project also Scam for their personal benifits.

In my opinion, I feel it is bad for the government of any countries to set too much regulations on ICO project, there will always be scammers who are making use of ICO project to scam people money, but it is everyone duty to ensure they are investing in the legit ICO project, this will surely affect a lot of legit companies from getting funds in the future through ICO.

More and more countries are planning to regulate ICOs. China, Canada, Russia,... I think this in an development nobody can stop. Do you think it is good or bad that ICOs will be more regulated in the near future? What positive and negative influences will it probably have?

I think there will be more investors like professional managed funds or even retirement funds which will invest into ICOs. The prices for ICOs will then become even more expensive and make it more difficult to make profits for small investors.

It depends on what is really planned :

- If regulation comes to really protect citizens and investors against scam et fraud, this is actually a good thing.
- If regulation comes to control citizens, fight against cryptocurrencies to maintain the government's strength (central bank's power, centralized companies...), this is not interesting at all.

For now, cryptocurrencies world is a bit like the Far West...

Making these decisions is not bad, but not good either. Those countries have put in place a ban on or restricting ICO projects in their country just because they fear that many investors will be trapped and lose a lot. What is the reason? That is, many ICO projects today are fraudulent and scam, they just set it up to make money of people, they do not care about development to the project. That is what they are worried about and have made decisions to adjust or ban ICO in their country. But these decisions could affect electronic money transactions in their home countries. This is just my personal opinion

It seems the ICO market has made the ecosystem of the cryptocurrency world get worse. But I do not think it made much like that, because this field also like Stock market, but the nature speculative really higher than Stock because the price of ICO tokens easily to control by someone.
It makes the ecosystem cryptocurrency worser, that could also happen but I think not all. As far as I can see, quite a few altcoins have become valuable and also potential growth after the end of the ICO project. As for the price of the ICO, what you say I agree with that idea. ICO prices are most likely to be controlled by an individual. Even when the ICO project ends, altcoin is listed on the trading floor, the "big whales" can also control the price of their own.

This is one step to make ico different. Because this regulation make ico create with difficult. But scamner is not easy. Ico Will create with different rule.
This would really be the the advantage on where ICO has been regulated already which would really be a new way on where investors and the project would really be monitored and scam would really be less likely to happen since its being regulated already.I would say this would really be on Good side but would really be very bad for some for sure specially on scamming intentions.

It is actually meant to be good thing. I mean just normal regulation, not ban. But it is definitely going to kill some people's desire to create more icos for sure.
I'm absolutely agree with you, but why it kill desire?
well I think that it will kill many upcoming ICOs which created out of thin air, with merely a whitepaper to raise funds. the regulation exist to prevent this, people think that it's a bad thing for the cryptoverse but it's not.
the government just trying to stop the money grabbing.
A. I understand your position. But then it is more about the desire of only those who do not want to make real efforts and are not initially ready to enter the market. But not all comers at all. This is something like the effect of an election or judicial deposit. So, on the whole, it is rather a plus for ICO market - it rises the trust level of it.

On the other hand, there must be a positive side in ICO regulations. There are lots of scammed ICOs and nobody could give a definite prediction which one is fake and which one is real. The the regulations, maybe the chances of becoming a scam will be reduced. ICO holders will now abide with the regulations and are careful with their projects.

I do agree with you in as much as this might seem like a setback, ICO regulations are all done in the best interest of protecting the investor from scam projects and to prevent people from committing fraudulent activities which was actually one of the reasons why the ban was put in place.

I think ICO Regulation is very good so there is no scam ICO and also no money laundry action. The regulated ICO will also increase the investor's confidence in the ICO project. And also can protecting investors from fraudulent acts.

That's not the reason ICO should regulate, But the uncontrollable market cap of cryptocurrency are inflating. The government is worried about this because it's really affecting the economy of an estate because people can invest freely without a tax. ICO regulation is good but the FUD around is very bad and dragging crypto price down.

If the regulation is made in a good way, it's a good point. The market is a mess right now, and everybody knows that the cryptocurrencies are way too volatile...
