Hello,

Very quick question - is there a service online where I can get the balance of a bitcoin address? So something like

www . service . com ? address=bla and then it just returns the BTC balance with nothing else? I know I can go to http://blockchain.info/ but this gives me way too much information - I would just need the balance to be given so I can integrate it into a web solution Smiley

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

You can actually use blockchain.info for what your looking for as well.

Heres the base url:
https://blockchain.info/q/addressbalance/

Just append the address at the end of the URL and you will get the balance of the address in satoshi.
