It's not a bad idea due to lack of proper regulation. But how many really good startups will blow away because of that?

Honestly I don't think this is a bad thing I normally don't agree with China on a lot of things but ICOs are nearly always scams as well as a very easy way for money laundering which should be regulated.

Recently, the Chinese government has considerably softened its attitude to the crypto currency and the stock exchange, trading in crypto currency, gradually began to open. We can say that China's attempt to limit or ban the circulation of the crypto currency has completely failed. Therefore, we should expect that with the ban on holding an ICO there will be some kind of relief. Most likely, ICO will be allowed under the control of state bodies. In general, such control is positive, provided there are no unnecessary restrictions.

Recently, information began to appear about that. that some Chinese stock exchanges began to again trade in a crypto currency and that the trade in crypto currency will soon resume in full. If this happens, then the next step should be to authorize an ICO, even if it is regulated by the state authorities, as it was planned earlier. We hope that China will again return to the crypto currency market.

Some Governments “financial institution,” MSBs are required to comply with Bank Secrecy Act laws and regulations, including AML (Anti-Money Laundering) requirements. They also need to comply with KYC (Know Your Customer) rules. i would love to see all ICO will regulate this rule.

Breaking news!

ICO is officially banned in China!

Here is the joint announcement from The People 's Bank of China, Central Network Office, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, State Administration for Industry and Commerce, China Banking Regulatory Commission, SFC, CIRC: http://www.pbc.gov.cn/goutongjiaoliu/113456/113469/3374222/index.html

-----------------------------

Another very aggressive move by the Bank of China but also their government. Once again displaying classic censorship in fear of their citizens making money on ICO's instead of going through their own centralised channels.

Perhaps it has been the policy of China for its people not to fall into ICO cheating, China is the country that quickly responds to it all.

Many countries are coming out to curb the billion dollar ICO industry and even though they are trying to ban these sort of crowd funding majority of the ICO funding are still coming from Asian countries, even if they ban these sort of funding, people will always find a way to keep the ball running and there is nothing they can do about it.

I recently got back from Shanghai and from the looks of it, most information about bitcoin is being censored completely in China. Couldn't connect to this forum, my blockchain.info wallet, or visit other BTC-related websites (not to mention couldn't use Google or Facebook, but that's not as surprising).

I could access the forum using a Tor browser... but something fishy was definitely going on with my computer while I was there.

I forgot to try to look up Tiananmen Square on Wikipedia when I was there, just for the lulz....

Interesting, its mean that still people may be using bitcoin using through through different softwares. i am sure that the bane on ICOS and other altcoin will be temporary and very soon they are going to release the bane from bitcoin and people will once again start using bitcoin as they were in future. In fact crypto currency is the future of the world and every country has to accept that fact.
