What to do when prices are falling

HODL while you can...there's a lot of FUD lately and some negative news about bitcoin that trigger the dip. Some are just temporary but takes a lot of time before going normal depending on the dip. Though still volatile bitcoin already established itself. For me dip means opportunity to buy more in my portfolio. Bitcoin and alts investment is a risk after all if you don't risk you wont profit.

If you are a day trader of course when the market goes down you will sell it and go back to that coin if the market will go high again but people still HODL their coins.

This is something which depends on your own way of planning and looking up at the things. there is only one thing that I will say and that is do whatever you want to do at the time when prices are falling down but do not panic. Remain cool and calm and think well before making any decision. For me, that time is the best time to increase the number of bitcoins in your wallet.

My suggestion with regars to this problem is either to sell your coins or invest more coins just like in any other businesses for them to lessen their loss they are selling their products or coins to a satisfying price another thing is to buy more coins because the market itself is unpredictable sometimes the market is on ita peak but sometimes it is not. So ita up to you whether you sell it or invest ore then wait for the surge.

It is right that stay is better than starting sale out of bitcoin but I would like to suggest that stay till the least expected down price of bitcoin according to your knowledge about bitcoin market nature and buy more in low rate because we have demonstrably observed that after down fall the price of bitcoin get raise 70% of the last highest value. I think it is the most beneficial strategy of collecting bitcoin for bright future.

The price is falling and goes to sell the bitcoin and the altcoins the people who want to enjoy the value will be able to increase the income. The people who are making money needs to hold the bitcoin for the long time. The value of the bitcoin is high and the panic selling is just the wrong decision. HODL is not always a good thing to do depending on what or why it's price go dumping like that so it's better we research why it happened like that and depend our judgement on the situation. But as recent news about bitcoin, there are still no news that will not make us hold for it since they are major enough for us to sell it out.

Scenarios like these have happened in the past and they will surely happen again. The most important thing is just to study the market and know when to calm down or when to make a quick decision and if you know the decision is too late and the losses are already big, the best is to take a chill pill, probably just take a work or sleep, do some other activities and come back when the cloud is better. By then, it could have been pumped back or getting closer.

If you will do that every of your trades for sure you will lose all your money you can't do day trading if markets goes down and go back again if market will go high that will make you regret instead hold the coin for a few days. Day trading becomes effective when there is a war in the market

Correct, many people think that day trading is about following the trend but if you do that you are going to go broke sooner or later, day trading is about identifying the moment when the trend is going to change if you can do that you can make a lot of money.

Who knows, for example right now prices are also low for amost all altcoins, so maybe it is even better to hold alts at the moment, rather than bitcoin, because price of bitcoin will drop after fork will be done Mostly the same thing will happen as with Bitcoin fork in August.

apperently your opinion is great idea but the investor sometimes panicking if the price falling because of the emotion the knowledge as a trader can't use the skills how to handle properly the invesment become profitable becuse of the emotion, i suggest always calm and relax do not panic go to the right decision.

   When prices are falling you need to keep your bitcoins, if some other alt-coin
is in question then you need to do a little search about specific coin, to see do
they preparing something new, do they have growing community, what is the
reason of price falling, and please add if you remember something more that can
be important when you thinking to trust in some alt-coin future or not.
   I carefully choose where I invest my money, first in bitcoins then in alt-coins.
I keep my coins safe for now when price is dropping and when price is rising, I
believe in long term price will rise significantly and it is better to keep some
coins than to sell them now for cheaper price.

I have a lot of skin in the game. Some people would think it was unwise to play so deeply with crypto when you have a min. wage job.

Well you should never sell when the coin is at a downward trend especially for btc because recovery is certain. We keep on hearing this all the time but falling prices should be taken on a positive note.

Well,it would be better to hold your bitcoins even if its price falls.I think that you think that you have bought at a very high price by buying at $4,600.But remember,bitcoin is totally different from altcoin.There is no guarantee about recovery of altcoin price.So,it would be better to sell altcoins once its price starts falling.But bitcoin price would soon recover after every fall and it would only get settled in a higher price.So.just hold your bitcoins.

Shorting is a very risky task and many have lost their money by doing it.It could be only done if you surely know that bitcoin price is going to fall down.In shorting,you just sell your bitcoins at the market price and just wait for the price to fall more so that you could buy it again at a very cheap price.

Just hold it. Or you can sell it for its bigger profit when the price of bitcoins has increased. When the price drops, you get a bitcoins higher. Hello. I have a folio of BTC, ETH, NEO and some alts. I've been watching at Bitcoin since 2015 but bought only at this summer (and the last move was quite bad, I bought some BTC for $4600). I try to study, watch vids, read forum and twitters. Chris Dunn has a vid on the topic but nothing really specific. I'm interested in some ideas about what to do when prices are falling.  Sell alts and hold bitcoin? Short? (and if yes, so the next question is how to learn how to short?).

If you sure that the price will keep falling, you should sell your coin, it is called cut loss. So although you are not take profit from that sell, you will have a chance to buy that coin in the lower price, when the coin prices is rise you will get profit from it, this is more apropriately called the opportunity sell
