What do you think will happen to crypto currencies following the latest news on the #ban on ICO in China?

will the already successful ICO's refund people's monies to them?

Is it good for governments to ban the use of crypto currencies?

Tell me what you think about any of these.  Smiley
Nothing will happen but some dips only. The effect of the ban is that some exchanges on China did remove a lot of coins that they are accepting before. And I dont have an idea if it will refund people's money, lets just wait until their central bank made a regulatory rules about ICO's.
I agree, because they only banned ico and not totally cryptocurrencies. The Ico money's is hard to claim but it depends on them. I've read some running chinese ico in the past weeks. Lets just hope that they'll return it.
The big effect is already happen dip in bitcoins price but sooner it will go back and continue to have a new Ath.
I heard from my friends if viewed from local Chinese exchanger, crypotcurrency there are not too many listed and it's just some like ETH and LTC. I do not think they will Bans all Altcoin if they only use ETH and LTC

Bad news if true it will happen. Is there a place for other coins there? And for a long time whether another coin will survive? I do not understand about the development and intent of the rules made by china

Personally I thought that ETH would take a hit, even long term.
If my informations are right, ETH was the main currency that fueld the ICOs.
But the quick recovery of ETH has proven me wrong, at least so far.
I suppose the possibility that the ban is just temporarily has calmed the investors down
Or maybe there are some details how things are connected that I am still not aware of.

  It's me!!!

Well, it has already affected the market, and now slowly is in recover mode. Sooner or later, rest of the world will try to regulate ICO somehow. Now it is to be seen, how each country will regulate this.

Yes, the market is recovering now, and I hope there is regulation on ICO because of too much scammer with empty promises, but I think it is hard to implement...
so now the problem in china has started to recover, it means the projects that have been completed in this month will be slowly way back, especially now many scamer projects that make us lose.
Why can it be said loss?
because this month I've joined one of the ico projects and the results of our tokens can be different from the information in the spreadsheet. Undecided

I have seen the list of ICOs banned in China. I never heard of any of them... I think the big movement of governments against ICOs is yet to be seen.

I think that regulation and transparency are much needed in the cryptoworld. However, they are attempting to centralize a technology that is meant to stay decentralized, which could have a real negative impact.

But still you dont heard it or invest on it still they could update the list of it and include those icos that we've invested. The problem now in the promising icos is they lost investors from china for their icos and i think it is a hard time to achieve their soft cap in their icos . Lets hope that it will also be succeded and china will unban it

Problem with China was a lot of the ICOs turned out be absolute scams, most people wouldn't have heard of them outside China, these are the ICOs the Chinese are trying to stop not actual legitimate ones.

Yes, I agree with you, this market should be controlled by the government, it is not acceptable to let this market development without control, so I think their will still be ICO projects there in some different names or forms.

For ICO you are right but government interference in crypto currencies must not be encouraged.

We should let the market decide not the government.

What do you think will happen to crypto currencies following the latest news on the #ban on ICO in China?

will the already successful ICO's refund people's monies to them?

Is it good for governments to ban the use of crypto currencies?

Tell me what you think about any of these.  Smiley

As many of us have seen, the banning of ICOs and cryptocurrencies in important countries such as China can only bring a wave of destructive effects in terms of economy for all of us (with "us" I mean everybody that uses cryptocurrencies) which, nowadays, it's a big majority of people that are making inquiries into this enthralling world.

You do understand ICO's only make up a small percentage of this economy, right? Chinese people will still be able to invest in any coin that gets listed on exchanges, which they will. Also, the ban is merely a temporarely solution to the problem of dozens of scams happening in China. As soon as tey regulate ICO's, they will be legal again, no worries. The regulations will be very reasonable, for example every company that wants to raise money with an ICO needs to have a working prototype, or should be an official company, or have financial and marketing plans for the next 3 years, ...

China ban their country from participating in any ico because they believe that it is not a good way to collect money from the people in their country and it is a bad news for the upcoming projects or even the current coins because the chinese might pull out their money in cryptocurrencies.

seems like the effect of the ban is a great opportunity to invest coin in short term and gain a lot of profit. you may look at graph of coin value.
