No wonder he's so upset--perfectly nice people tend to get unpleasant while losing money.  How much did he lose thus far, if it's not impolite to ask?

@andyfletcher:  It's ok bro, it's only money.  Plz post how much you have "invested" in Branny, A.K.A. Rental Starter; Full Power Asia Investment LTD--I know you're a fan of openness and transparency.
*It will give you a chance to play with GPG, too!

I have a substantial holding in RS. I'm not prepared to disclose the size of it to you as there is no commercial relationship between us and there is no benefit to me in letting you have the information. It isn't too hard to work out anyway.

RS is a USD based investment, BTC is only the method of moving money in and out of it. Considering what I paid for the shares I've not lost money and am very pleased about the way it is managed.

So please go and troll somewhere else, I suggest you try complaining about the (apparently defunct) mpex website.

Andy, I'm afraid I'll have to call your bluff.  There is no possible way you can both be the heaviest shareholder and having profited--in dollars, doughnuts or bitcoin.  Not enough volume for you to have bought a substantial amount below IPO Undecided
Get good at bluffing or give it up. Cheesy

Here are the 8 properties and their "Market Value" according to rentalstarter.com

Property NumberValue
1$115,000
2$55,000
3$85,000
4$80,000
5$80,000
6$60,000
7$80,000
8$50,000

Total "Market Value": $605,000

According to https://www.havelockinvestments.com/fund.php?symbol=RENT there are 50000 + 78534 = 128534 units in total?

This means that owning one share means you own $605000 / 128534 = $4.71 of property?

In other words, someone could buy every single share of RentalStarter for ฿561.2258 and own all 8 houses? (a $600k value)

The total outstanding # of shares is 152507 / $605,000 = $3.97/share

This also does not include the cash we have onhand or BTC in reserves which is an additional ~$40,000 + 46btc.

So ,  $605,000 + $40,000 + 46btc (28,900) = $4.48/share

A trade for 500 @ 0.0047BTC vs. one minutes later for 23 @ 0.00368.  Looks like the seller got Havelock'd (i.e. had a bid line pulled out from under them).

Branny, Andy. Please don't feed the troll and he will go away.

If anyone has a problem with this security, open a new thread and cry your heart out there.
So far,  Branny has kept this thread full of useful information and troll free so new investors don't have to dig through pile of crap to catch up on all available info.
And I would very much like it,  if it stayed that way.

The is not a playground for children, but investment opportunity. No one is putting a gun to anyone's head,  do your research first,  if you like what you see,  then invest,  if you don't stay a way.

Matter of fact,  please show me another security on the forum that has kept things as professional,  as transparent,  as updated than RENT.
Even the Irc channel is one of the most active ones.

Everyone has their own reason for investing in RS.  I for one, converted fiat to BTC just to invest in RS to hedge against BTC.  Second, Price of the share is irrelevant to me, because my investment has grown regardless. I now own portion of 8 properties instead of 2 with the same investment. Even if the price of RS goes to .00000001, the fact remains my ownership in these properties can only grow as new properties are acquired.

To dumbify this little further,  I now own more of what I bought for the same amount. The share price has not effected my ownership in these properties. On the contrary,  thanks to the  outstanding efforts by the issuer, my fiat investment is doing 6 times better.

Now, if you are speculator (gambler) and you were hoping to sell your shares by now for profit in BTC, well too, bad, cause this is a fiat investment and no one has lost yet going long on this.

Just to note, they have also been putting a lot of effort and resource trying to make this security as legit as possible,  more than any other security listed within this forum.

With that said,  this will be the last comment for the trolls to feast on and next time maybe  make constructive/productive comments or suggestions.

ROFL.  A game of Three-Card Monte is "an investment opportunity."  An opportunity to be avoided,, but so's this.

How's that working out for you?  Never mind, I'll do the math:  You are ~20% POORER in fiat.  Not quite what I'd call a win Cheesy

You obviously need to learn more about investing before you lose any more of your money.  You have picked up tremendous risks, third-party and otherwise, for what is proving to be ~3% yearly yield.  Please calculate in how many years you'll see your principal back.  HINT:  Don't compound Cheesy

Yep, you own more pipe dreams.  Congrats!

Your fiat investment is doing 20% worse.  Where did you come up with that ridiculous "6 times better"Huh

Another horrible misconception.  Speculating != gambling.  Gambling is gambling, though most of the self-proclaimed speculators and junior real-estate tycoons on this forum are indistinguishable from degenerate gamblers.  That's because they're clueless and/or have a closeted humiliation/degradation fetish.  NOT because speculation is gambling.

"They" is one d00d, Branny.  Stop it with the majestic plurals.

Here is the financial performance report of RS for July. This one is compiled slightly differently than past ones. It counts only the marketable price of the properties as-is, and does not utilize the post-rehab value. This means the total market value reflects the non-rehabbed state of Mulberry & Scioto #3.

* - Rent is always paid for the first month in full regardless of move-in date. The second month is then pro-rated to reflect the first month's move-in date based on a average price per day.
** - I discounted first month's rent by $100 due to the fact that there was a leaking sewage connection during move in. It caused a bunch of problems and I felt it was only right to knock $100 off first month's rent.

It looks like the price of bitcoins has stabilized for the time being. If the price starts jumping again, then expect the price of RENT to take a further dive.

^Interesting theory, but assumes rational, informed investors, no price manipulation, and reasonable liquidity--which means it simply doesn't reflect reality.
For instance, the price today has jumped from .0042 to 0.0054 (BRAVO!).  While bitcoin has went up from $610 to 625.
According to your theory, RENT price should have gone down Undecided

The last time bitcoin went up (when it jumped over 600), the price of RENT went down more than would correlate with the btc rise, and the RENT price is slowly rising to regain equilibrium with the bitcoin price. A bitcoin price move up or down a couple percent is just normal trading volatility and does not affect the price of RENT like a bump of 10 or 20%.

The price of RENT dropped overly much because investors expected the price of bitcoin to continue rising, as the bitcoin price remains stable the price of RENT will rise to correlate with the reported NAV per share.
