I think the attitude of making worthless posts is the problem, you could easily use your first 4 hours to soak up as much knowledge as you could. On my personal account I had more than probably 14 hours on the board before I made a post. When I got here it was just so much to learn so I dove in head first. I mean I still have a ton to learn but just observing and taking things in are more valuable than most people think.

ok, so i came to this forum, checked some posts that really took my interest, registered, to stay notified and now i would have a real question concerning one of the entries ... what now... for me those 5 posts are kinda like worthless... forces me to produce junk or come up with needless questions that might already be answered elsewhere for getting the info...  so whatever i think 3 to go... |

As for the logic in this, without a more robust reputation system or integration with Google/Disqus/OpenID, it's an easy, but tedious, method.
