really interesting project but I must say that the "bear market" is having really bad effect on this one : whales are getting fat and you know what it means....
me no likey the distribution. not so healthy.

Although i'm trying to grab few K's of semux cuz there's some great ideas and talented ppl aboard.

keep up the good work guys!
Maybe you can know about this project? How i can get more SEM from coins which i already have?

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

You have to vote with your coins for one of the validators and get sem every day

No one can force people to buy or to sell, that's their own choice. I would say that it's healthy to have bear markets.
I don't see anything bad in fat wallets as well. As all we know, once fat wallets will accumulate enough coins, they will start pumping up - win for traders.
If you want to support the technology, if you do participate in governance, if you earn from staking - again, no problems for holders and true supporters. No matter if the price goes down or pumping hard, no one can take your SEM Wink

do you have POS or MN? Or how i can get coins?

Semux functions on DPoS consensus.
You can buy some SEM coins from the exchanges it is listed. (Check the initial post for the exchanges)
Then you can use the number of coins that you accumulated to vote for a particular delegate.
The delegate will send your share to your wallet address periodically, thus earning SEM for holding SEM.

It's like new POS system?

It's like new POS system?

You can put it that way, in normal POS you need to keep your coin inside your wallet and do nothing to get the stake while in SEMUX you need to vote out your coin in order to run the staking process. Both of them are technically the same, you keep your coin inside your wallet but the only difference is you need to vote it out while in normal POS you do not need to do it.

To be quite precise , Semux works on the consensus algorithm Semux BFT on the basis Byzantine fault tolerance (BFT) ,and so in principle everything is correct  Wink

VALIDATOR ROI  33.95% yearly

as far as I know there are no ready-made applications yet, but the developers were going to make a bounty program to attract developers, when it is ready you can try your hand

So as for now its just a testnet after almost 3 years of development? Why are they so slowly?
33% is for validators as you said, But I asked what ROI for delegators? Do they have plans to decrease rewards and when?

What is testnet (there is a small testnet for developers)? The coin is already long up and running ,to be precise the mainet network was launched in January 2018, the delegates do not receive an award , only the validators , I understand that you are completely unfamiliar with the coin

There is testnet and mainnet.  You are working on bad information.
Approx 33% ROI for validators.  Delegates get nothing.  (If they did, then no one would need to vote as they would just burn coins to make deligates).

Yes, there is plans to decrease the reward.  It's listed on the very front page of the website.  (http://semux.org)
It states:
Block Rewards: 22,000,000 SEM
(mining ends in years 2031-2032)
0-2M blocks: 3 SEM / block
2M-6M blocks: 2 SEM / block
6M-14M blocks: 1 SEM / block

Ok, I understand. I though that there is a DPoS system.
So if mainnet launch was more than year ago than why there is no daaps, or how are they going use this blockchain? For what?

You can read about the project at:
https://github.com/semuxproject/semux-core/blob/master/doc/

Specifically, https://github.com/semuxproject/semux-core/blob/master/docs/Semux-BFT-Consensus.md
That explains why BFT instead of DPoS.

I understand that you want to be able to ask questions and get answers; however, I think you would be better served if you simply read the thread and/or the docs/website first.

Semux  and runs on a DPoS (Delegated-Proof-of-Stake) system.
Semux BFT consensus algorithm, this is an improved version of DPoS system.
about daaps it is better to ask developers, 2 months ago launched VM (Virtual Machine) now Semux supports smart contracts written on solidity

Btw, how many developers are actively developing the project right now? is Mdodong still active on it? how about Cryptocat?
Checked the GitHub page, the last time Cryptocat made a commit was in April. He has been away for quite awhile.

he was quite active in developing the project last year.
What is wrong with him?
A year ago he was away from the project and then made a comeback, then he left the project again? does he leave for good or to take some vacation again?

I can not answer this question because I do not know the answer to it, probably it would be better to ask the members of the development team about it
