I'm creating this announcement topic, as it was requested.

Important: It's an information and discussion topic only. No samples and no voting, please.

What do you need to participate:

1. "Raw" logo sample;
2. Icon samples;
3. "Accepted here" banner samples.
4. Explanation of the selected concept.

If you wish to participate, you need report it in PM, with your samples. We will wait 1-2 weeks until there will be enough candidates. Only after this public candidates thread will be created.

Note that you don't have to publish this anywhere before start of public candidates thread. You should protect your ideas against the plagiarism attempts.

Prizes will be:

9 BTC + record in the copyright notes / changelog for the winning;
3 BTC for the 2nd;
1 BTC for the 3rd.

or equivalent in preferred currency (BTC-E USD codes and NVC available).

Okay, I have a question. I really like the current logo as it is shown here:

It's easily the best logo on that page and it will be hard to beat. Why do we need another one?

Unfortunately, current logo is licensed only for non-commercial purposes. But Novacoin is a free and open-source project, so such limitations it's not good. We should replace it with the new one without any licensing limitations.

i personaly sell yesterday all my novacoins. i saw this behaviour when UNOCS promises soooo much things, and after that we saw delay and delay everything.

Logo has no connection with the development. Anyway, I have enough BTC to cover it and will start voting thread as soon as another issues (I have a lot of those with the another project, unfortunately) will be resolved.

There were many personal problems, but the issue can be considered solved. Originally you didn't have to upload images to the public, but I suppose that it won't hurt because the chronology was broken already.

I think that we can continue in public, following the scheme:

1) Publish logo samples here or in PM with NVC or BTC address attached;
2) Receive some coins.

No attempt limits will be introduced... We'll think about voting later.
