It is the first time that wheat delivery from Russia to Turkey was paid for with crypto currency!

In December, Prime Shipping Foundation company delivered 3,000 tons of wheat from Rostov-na-Donu to a Turkish city of Samsun. The deal was made in bitcoins, the head of the company Ivan Vikukov told Bloomberg. The deal was hedged with the help of futures on Bitcoin at the CME exchange.

Prime Shipping Foundation is a joint venture of Gibraltar company Quorum Capital and a charter broker Interchart. Both mother companies’ owners are of Russian decent though all registered outside of Russia.

Let’s remind you that in December, farmer Akimov purchased a cow and pigs from farmer Potcheptsov for 42,000 biocoins. So, soon we will get to wheat as well!

Crypto currencies are not going to be banned in Russia. This is a conclusion that could be made after reading the draft law “On digital financial assets” by the Ministry of Finance. The agency is planning to regulate crypto currencies turnover, ICO and mining. We are just a little concerned by the provision that unqualified investors would only be able to purchase tokens for not more than 50,000 rubles within the framework of one ICO.

Exchanges of crypto currencies and tokens, as proposed by the draft law, are allowed to be made to other crypto currencies, rubles and foreign currencies only through exchanges registered in Russia. So we are expecting a listing of BioCoin on domestic exchange:)

Another story about “reasonable” mining, strawberry and #agritech

They are going to build a farm with two purposes in Primorsky Region, for a simultaneous strawberry cultivation as well as crypto currency mining. Fruity farm CoinBerry would have a building complex including a high-tech all-year-round greenhouse that will be heated using its own solar system energy. The choice of strawberry itself, as explained by the company, is due to the fact that this is a very tasty and valuable berry and there is a huge deficit of it during offseason in Primoriye.
